Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Asus Zephyrus S GX531GV — 15.44V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (C41N1828)
This is a 15.44V, 3750mAh (57.9Wh) Li-Polymer battery for the Asus ROG Zephyrus S GX531GV gaming laptop. It fits the GX531GV, GX531GW-ES006T, GX531GW-AS73, and the ROG Zephyrus S GX531GV-ES007T among others. It replaces OEM part C41N1828 and 0B200-03020200 directly.
- GX531 series fit: The GX531GV and GX531GW share the same 4-cell Li-Polymer configuration, voltage rail, and BMS connector pinout. This battery covers both variants without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the GX531 platform. The BMS handshake completed correctly, charge termination triggered at the expected voltage ceiling, and the protection circuit responded normally to load spikes during GPU stress testing.
- Post-install calibration on the GX531: After fitting this battery, run one full discharge until the laptop hibernates, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on this platform.
Why the GX531GV shuts down at 20–30% remaining after a battery swap
The GX531's fuel gauge IC stores discharge curve data from the previous cell in EEPROM. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual chemistry, so the IC misjudges remaining capacity. Under full CPU and GPU load the new cell hits a voltage cliff while the gauge still reads 20–30%. The BIOS interprets the sudden voltage drop as a critical event and forces shutdown before the OS can respond. One full discharge-to-hibernate cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge forces the IC to relearn the new cell's discharge profile and eliminates the premature cutoff.
BIOS reporting the replacement battery's Wh rating incorrectly in system info
The Wh value shown in BIOS and HWiNFO on the GX531 is pulled from EEPROM data written by the original OEM cell — not read live from the new cell's chemistry. After a swap, that stored value persists until the learn cycle overwrites it. Run the full calibration cycle described above and the reported Wh will update to reflect the actual installed capacity. If the value still reads incorrectly after one full cycle, check that the battery connector is fully seated, as a partial connection can cause the BMS to report stale EEPROM data indefinitely.

Frequently Asked Questions
The ROG Zephyrus S GX531GV BIOS shows the new battery as "Unknown" or 0% right after installation — is the cell dead?
The cell is not dead. The GX531 BIOS reads battery identity from EEPROM data on the old cell; when a new cell goes in, there is no recognised EEPROM signature yet and the system reports unknown or 0%. Perform one full discharge to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This triggers the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the unknown status — after one full cycle the gauge should read correctly.
The fuel gauge on my GX531GV is jumping wildly — showing 80%, then 45%, then 70% within minutes of unplugging. What is causing this?
The fuel gauge IC on the GX531 platform calibrates its discharge curve against the specific cell installed. After a swap, the IC is still using the old cell's stored profile, so its capacity estimates are erratic until it collects real discharge data from the new cell. This settles over two to three full charge and discharge cycles. Do not rely on the percentage readout during these first cycles — let the laptop run down to hibernate and charge back to 100% each time until the readings stabilise.
New battery installed in my GX531GW-AS73 and it will not charge above 80% — is this a battery fault?
This is almost always a BIOS charge limit setting, not a fault with the cell. Asus ROG laptops ship with Battery Care Mode enabled by default, which caps charging at 80% to reduce cell stress during long AC-connected sessions. Open MyAsus or Armoury Crate, navigate to the battery care or health settings, and disable the charge limit. Once disabled, the battery will charge to 100%.
