Fits Sanyo 23621 cordless phone handset; replaces OEM CS-P501HL battery pack directly.
3.6V, 1300mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers full talk time and standby operation on this DECT handset platform.
Barrel connector seats into handset dock with spring-loaded contact alignment; locking tab secures pack horizontally in battery chamber.
Bench testing showed BMS acceptance on first insertion into base station charger; voltage ramped steadily through conditioning cycles.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH cordless phone batteries require a slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sanyo 23621 / CL-410 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH 1300mAh Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 1300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for Sanyo cordless phones including the 23621, CL-410, 3N-600AA(mtm), and GES-PCF02 among others. It slots into the handset where the original pack sits and restores the phone to working condition. Capacity is 1300mAh — 4.68Wh total energy.

  • Handset compatibility across the range: These Sanyo models share the same 3.6V three-cell NiMH pack format and connector pinout. The base station charges at the same voltage rail across all of them, so one battery covers the full group without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the base station charge circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the charge handshake at the correct voltage. Charge termination triggered cleanly — no false cutoffs or error lights on the base unit.
  • First-charge protocol for NiMH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it untouched for a full 16 hours before first use. NiMH cells in cordless phones need a slow initial charge to reach rated capacity — a quick top-up off the shelf will not get you there.

Why the base station shows an error light with a new NiMH pack

NiMH batteries lose voltage during storage. If the pack sits in a warehouse for weeks, its open-circuit voltage can drop below the threshold the Sanyo base station expects before it begins a charge cycle. The base interprets this as a fault rather than a discharged battery. To clear it, remove the battery, hold the handset power button for five seconds to drain any residual charge from the handset capacitors, reinsert the battery, and place it straight back on the base — most units will then accept the pack and begin charging normally.

Talk time shorter than the original battery after replacement

This is expected behaviour with fresh NiMH cells — it is not a fault with the battery. NiMH chemistry requires three to five full charge and discharge cycles before the cells reach their rated 1300mAh capacity. Each cycle, talk time will noticeably improve. Run the handset down until it signals low battery, return it to the base for a full charge, and repeat — by cycle four or five, capacity should be at or very close to the rated figure.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sanyo handset lost its pairing with the base right after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Removing the battery fully cuts power to the handset, and some Sanyo DECT models drop their pairing data when power is lost completely. This is a firmware behaviour, not a battery fault. Re-register the handset using the base station's paging or registration button — on most Sanyo models, hold the button on the base for three seconds until the base LED flashes, then press the handset's "Find" or "Page" key to complete the pairing.

The handset is fully charged but drains dead overnight even though I'm not making calls — what's happening?

This is a standby draw issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is not properly seated in the base cradle, it runs on battery instead of drawing from the base power supply. Check that the charging contacts on the handset base align cleanly — a small tilt or debris on the contacts breaks the circuit. Clean the gold contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, reseat the handset, and confirm the charge indicator light activates within 10 seconds.

The phone's range dropped noticeably after I put in the new battery — was the range always this short?

Range reduction after a battery swap is usually a voltage sag issue under RF load. When a NiMH pack is not yet conditioned, its internal resistance is higher, and the handset's transmit circuit sees a voltage dip the moment the radio fires — the phone compensates by reducing transmit power. Run three to five full charge and discharge cycles to condition the cells and lower internal resistance. If range is still short after five cycles, check the battery contacts in the handset for corrosion and clean them with a dry cotton swab.
