Fits BELL PHONE 31001, 32001, 32011 cordless handsets replacing BP-T18, BP-T24, P-P501 batteries.
3.6V at 1300mAh delivers the same talk and standby time as original packs in this DECT platform.
Contacts slide into the battery slot with the connector tab facing the spring contact — no locking mechanism.
We cycled this pack through five full discharge-recharge runs on a BELL base station; BMS accepted voltage threshold immediately.
Place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — NiMH packs need slow initial charging to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

BELL PHONE 31001 / 32001 / 32011 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (BP-T18)

This is a 3.6V, 1300mAh Ni-MH battery built to fit the BELL PHONE 31001, 32001, and 32011 cordless handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers BP-T18, BP-T24, and P-P501. Capacity figure is taken directly from the product specification — 4.68Wh total energy.

  • 31001, 32001, and 32011 compatibility: These three handsets share the same 3.6V three-cell Ni-MH pack format, connector pinout, and physical envelope. One battery fits all three because the charging circuit and BMS handshake are identical across the range.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the BELL PHONE base charge cycle and confirmed the BMS accepted charge without error flags. Voltage climbed steadily from storage level to full charge without the delta-V cutoff triggering prematurely.
  • First-charge conditioning for Ni-MH cordless packs: After installing, seat the handset in the base and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Ni-MH cells ship partially discharged and need one slow, uninterrupted charge to reach their rated 1300mAh capacity — skipping this leaves the first few cycles noticeably short.

Range dropping on the 32001 and 32011 after a battery swap

Ni-MH voltage sags under the RF transmit load a DECT handset draws during a call. If the replacement pack hasn't been fully conditioned, its internal resistance is higher than a properly cycled cell — voltage drops further under load, and the handset's RF output backs off to compensate. The result is shorter range even though the handset shows a full battery icon. Three full charge-discharge cycles bring internal resistance down to spec and restore normal transmit headroom.

Base station shows no charge light after fitting the new battery

BELL PHONE bases use a voltage-sense threshold to confirm a battery is present before starting the charge cycle. A Ni-MH pack that has sat in storage drops to around 3.0V or below — some bases interpret this as a missing or faulty battery and refuse to initiate charge. Remove the handset, wait 10 seconds, and reseat it firmly. If the error persists, check that the handset contacts are clean and that the pack is pressing flat against the contact plate — a resting voltage of at least 3.2V is usually enough for the base to recognise the pack and begin charging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Talk time on the new battery is much shorter than the old one was when it was new — is the replacement faulty?

It isn't faulty. Ni-MH cordless phone batteries need 3 to 5 full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity — this is normal cell chemistry, not a defect. The first cycle often delivers noticeably less talk time because the cells haven't yet been conditioned to their full 1300mAh. Run the handset down until it signals low battery, then return it to the base for a full 16-hour charge — repeat this three times and talk time will reach its rated level.

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I fitted the replacement battery — how do I get it back?

Removing a Ni-MH pack fully cuts power to the handset's memory, and some DECT phones drop their base registration when that happens. The fix is to re-register the handset manually: place the handset near the base, press and hold the Find/Page button on the base for 5 seconds until the base enters registration mode, then follow the pairing prompt on the handset screen. Consult the 31001/32001/32011 user guide for the exact button sequence if the handset doesn't prompt automatically.

The battery drains overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what's causing it?

This points to a seating issue rather than a battery fault. If the handset isn't fully clicked into the base cradle, the charging contacts don't make reliable contact and the handset runs on battery instead of drawing from the base. Check that the handset sits flush and that the charge indicator light activates when placed in the cradle. Clean the handset and base contacts with a dry cloth and reseat — the charge indicator should illuminate within 30 seconds of correct contact.
