Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shark V3700UK Type 1 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (XBAT3700)
This is a 3.7V 3400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Shark Cordless Rechargeable Hard Floor Sweeper V3700UK and V3700 Type 1. It fits directly into the V3700UK Type 1 sweeper and restores power to the brush motor and drive system. Capacity matches the original at 3400mAh (12.58Wh).
- V3700 and V3700UK Type 1 compatibility: Both the V3700 and V3700UK Type 1 variants share the same 3.7V single-cell architecture, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — this battery covers both without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the V3700UK charging circuit and confirmed the BMS accepted the full charge cycle, balanced correctly at 4.2V, and tripped the protection circuit as expected on a simulated overcurrent draw.
- Dock charging behaviour on this sweeper: The V3700UK has no automatic dock cutoff — leave it seated on the charger after a full charge and the cell absorbs a continuous trickle current. Charge to full, then remove from the dock and store the sweeper unplugged.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the V3700UK
The V3700UK motor draws harder when airflow is restricted — a partially blocked filter or clogged brush roll forces the cell to supply current above its rated continuous output. The BMS reads this as a stress condition and throttles output voltage before the charge indicator registers as low. The sweeper loses suction noticeably while the light still shows adequate charge. Clean or replace the filter first; if the problem persists with a clean filter, the original cell has degraded below usable capacity and needs replacing.
Motor cuts out mid-use then recovers after a short pause
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a mechanical fault. On the V3700UK, sustained restricted airflow — a jammed brush roll or heavily loaded filter — causes instantaneous current spikes the protection circuit treats as a short-circuit event, cutting power to the motor. Releasing the trigger and waiting roughly 10–15 seconds allows the BMS to reset and restore output. If cut-outs happen repeatedly on a clear filter with a new cell, check the brush roll for hair wrap binding the motor shaft directly.

Frequently Asked Questions
My V3700UK sweeper has strong suction when I start it but it fades noticeably after a few minutes even though the battery light still shows charged — what's happening?
The battery light on the V3700UK reflects remaining charge, not the cell's ability to sustain current under load. As Li-ion cells age, internal resistance rises, and voltage sags under motor draw even when capacity appears intact. The result is reduced motor speed and weaker suction long before the indicator warns you. Replacing the cell restores the flat discharge curve the motor needs to hold consistent airflow throughout the run.
I left my V3700UK on its charging dock overnight every night and now it barely holds charge after just a few weeks — did I damage it?
Yes — continuous dock charging is the primary cause of early capacity loss in this sweeper. The V3700UK charger does not cut off automatically once the cell reaches 4.2V, so the battery absorbs a low-level trickle current indefinitely. Repeated trickle charging at full capacity accelerates electrolyte degradation in Li-ion cells. Going forward, charge the replacement fully, remove it from the dock, and only return it when the cell is depleted.
The replacement battery charged fully but the V3700UK motor cuts out almost immediately under load and won't restart until I leave it for a few minutes — is the new cell faulty?
This points to a BMS overcurrent trip rather than a faulty cell. On the V3700UK, the protection circuit will immediately cut motor power if instantaneous current draw exceeds the cell's rated threshold — this typically happens when the brush roll is jammed or the filter is heavily blocked, forcing the motor to stall. Clear the brush roll of any hair or debris and check the filter before concluding the cell is at fault. If the problem disappears with a clear brush roll and clean filter, the cell is functioning correctly.
