Fits Sharp PV-100TG smartphone; replaces OEM part IA3Y701C2.
3.7V 1200mAh lithium-polymer cell restores full capacity to aged devices.
Connector and locking tab match original housing; no modification needed.
Bench test showed fuel gauge IC accepted new cell profile on first full cycle.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle — this lets the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell discharge curve before high-current charging resumes.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sharp PV-100TG — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (IA3Y701C2)

This 3.7V 1200mAh (4.44Wh) lithium-polymer cell replaces the OEM battery in the Sharp PV-100TG smartphone. It matches the original connector, dimensions (61.00 × 34.60 × 8.30mm), and BMS handshake requirements of the PV-100TG platform. Install it when the original cell no longer holds a usable charge across a normal day.

  • PV-100TG platform fit: The PV-100TG uses a dedicated li-polymer pouch cell at 3.7V nominal with a specific connector pinout. This cell matches that voltage rail and physical form factor so the charge IC and fuel gauge IC see a compatible cell on first boot.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the bench, confirming the BMS accepted the charge handshake without faults and that the protection circuit triggered correctly at low-voltage cutoff — no runaway, no false full-charge flag.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC build an accurate discharge curve against the new cell before high-current charging pushes load into an uncalibrated counter.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the PV-100TG after a cell swap

The PV-100TG's fuel gauge IC retains the discharge curve from the old cell in memory. A fresh cell has a different voltage-versus-capacity slope, so the IC misreads the actual state of charge. When the modem transmits or the screen peaks in brightness, current draw spikes and the new cell's voltage drops faster than the IC predicted. The phone interprets this as a hard undervoltage event and shuts down — even though the displayed percentage still showed 20–30%. Run one full uninterrupted discharge to 0% and a full charge to 100% without interruption; this forces the coulomb counter to reset its reference points against the new cell.

PV-100TG not powering on after sitting in storage with a flat battery

If the original cell drained below approximately 2.5V during storage, the BMS protection circuit trips into lockout mode and blocks all current flow — including the charge current needed to recover the cell. Plugging in a standard charger shows nothing on screen because the battery cannot accept charge in this state. Connect the phone to a charger and leave it for at least 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button; some charge ICs deliver a trickle pre-charge pulse that slowly raises cell voltage above the BMS re-enable threshold of around 2.8–3.0V. Once the screen shows a charge indicator, proceed with a full charge before first use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Sharp PV-100TG show a completely different battery percentage after I put in the new battery?

The fuel gauge IC on the PV-100TG was calibrated to the old cell's specific discharge curve — voltage versus remaining capacity. A new cell has a different internal resistance and voltage slope, so the IC's stored reference points no longer match what it's measuring. The percentage readout will jump or read inaccurately until the IC relearns the curve. Run one full uninterrupted discharge from 100% to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% without removing the charger — this resets the coulomb counter against the new cell's actual curve.

The PV-100TG gets noticeably warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges after replacement — is something wrong?

This is expected behaviour on the first two or three charge cycles with a new high-impedance li-polymer cell. A fresh cell has slightly higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC pushes voltage into more resistance, generating more heat than usual. Warmth during charging is normal; heat that makes the back panel uncomfortable to touch is not. If the phone feels hot rather than warm, or if charging stops before 100%, let the phone cool to room temperature and restart the charge — the charge IC will throttle current at a lower starting resistance on the next attempt.

Fast charging stopped working on my PV-100TG after swapping the battery — the phone only charges slowly now.

Some charge controllers on the PV-100TG handshake with the BMS before enabling high-current fast charge mode. On the first cycle with a new cell, the BMS may not complete that handshake correctly, so the charge IC defaults to standard 5V trickle current instead of the faster protocol. This is not a fault with the replacement cell — it is a first-cycle initialisation behaviour. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then disconnect and reconnect the charger; the BMS handshake typically succeeds on the second cycle and fast charging resumes.
