Fits Shimpo FG-3000 digital force gauge, replaces OEM part FG-3BAT.
3.6V, 300mAh Ni-MH cell powers display and measurement functions without voltage sag during force reading cycles.
Connector slides into battery compartment on gauge rear; locking tab seats flush with housing.
Tested on FG-3000 unit — cell accepted charge without BMS faults, voltage held steady under sustained sensor load.
After installation, run full calibration cycle through instrument menu before field deployment so the gauge maps battery state correctly.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Shimpo FG-3000 — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (FG-3BAT)

This 3.6V 300mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the FG-3BAT pack in the Shimpo FG-3000 digital force gauge. The FG-3000 is a handheld push/pull measurement instrument used in quality control, inspection, and lab testing. This cell restores full display and measurement function when the original pack no longer holds charge.

  • FG-3000 force gauge fit: The FG-3BAT is a compact 30.60 × 31.00 × 11.00mm Ni-MH cell matched to the FG-3000's internal bay dimensions and 3.6V supply rail. The connector and BMS communication profile align with the gauge's charge management circuit — no modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through the FG-3000's charge cycle and confirmed BMS handshake, stable voltage delivery under measurement load, and correct low-battery threshold triggering on the display.
  • Calibration cycle before field use: After fitting this battery, run a full calibration cycle through the FG-3000's instrument menu before taking measurements. The gauge maps battery state during calibration — skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings during your first measurement session.

FG-3000 BMS lockout after the gauge sat unused in a carry case for months

Ni-MH cells self-discharge slowly even when the instrument is off. If the FG-3000 sits unused long enough, the pack drops below the BMS recovery threshold and the gauge will not power on or accept a charge. Connect the gauge to its charger and leave it for 30–60 minutes — the BMS needs to see a trickle input before it opens the charge circuit. If the original pack has been in storage more than six months, recovery is often not possible and replacement is the faster path.

Readings resetting or dropping to zero mid-logging session

This happens when sustained sensor load pulls the cell voltage below the FG-3000's operating floor — not a full shutdown, but a momentary dropout that resets the active reading. A worn cell holds its resting voltage but collapses under load. A fresh FG-3BAT pack at 3.6V holds the supply rail steady through a continuous logging run. After fitting the replacement, confirm resting voltage reads at or above 3.6V before starting a logged session.

Frequently Asked Questions

My FG-3000 powers on but shuts itself off the moment I start a USB data transfer to the PC — why?

USB data transfer adds a second draw on top of the measurement circuit, and an aged or partially depleted Ni-MH cell can't sustain both loads simultaneously. The voltage sags just enough to trigger the FG-3000's undervoltage cutoff. Fit a fresh FG-3BAT pack and confirm resting voltage is at or above 3.6V before attempting another transfer. That combined draw stays well within what a new cell handles.

The FG-3000 won't recognise or charge the new battery after I installed it — what's wrong?

If the replacement pack was stored before shipping, the cell voltage may have dropped below the BMS recovery floor. The gauge's charge circuit won't engage until it sees a minimum input voltage. Connect the instrument to the charger and leave it undisturbed for 45–60 minutes — the BMS needs that trickle window to wake the circuit. Once it registers, the charge indicator will activate and proceed normally.

The battery percentage display jumps around erratically at startup after fitting the new pack — is it faulty?

It's not faulty. The FG-3000's voltage-threshold indicator recalibrates to the new cell's charge curve over the first few cycles, and early readings can appear inconsistent. Run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu as prompted, then complete one full charge before field use. The display stabilises once the gauge has mapped the new pack's voltage profile at rest and under load.
