Fits Sichler PCR-1550M cordless vacuum cleaner; replaces original 14.4V Ni-MH battery pack.
14.4V, 1800mAh capacity delivers full motor voltage for sustained suction on floors and carpets.
Connector slots into battery bay with single locking tab; verify tab alignment before insertion.
Bench testing shows BMS accepts charge cycle without fault codes; voltage ramps clean on first load.
Do not leave this vacuum on the charging dock continuously — Ni-MH packs on permanent trickle charge lose capacity fast; remove from dock once fully charged.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sichler PCR-1550M — 14.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 14.4V, 1800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Sichler PCR-1550M cordless vacuum cleaner. It fits directly into the PCR-1550M handset and restores power to the motor and suction system. Capacity is rated at 25.92Wh.

  • PCR-1550M motor compatibility: The PCR-1550M runs a brushed DC motor on a 14.4V rail. Ni-MH chemistry at this voltage handles the sustained draw of vacuum operation without the BMS trip sensitivity you get in Li-ion packs — the motor can pull hard during carpet passes without cutting out.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through full discharge and recharge sequences, monitoring cell voltage balance and BMS response under load. The pack held voltage above the motor's cutoff threshold through sustained draw and recovered cleanly between cycles.
  • Dock charging on the PCR-1550M: Do not leave the vacuum on the charging dock continuously. Ni-MH cells in cordless vacuums develop capacity fade faster under constant trickle charge than under normal use cycles. Charge to full, then remove the unit from the dock until the next use.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the PCR-1550M

This happens when Ni-MH cells age and internal resistance rises. The motor still runs, but voltage sags under load before the pack is genuinely depleted — the indicator reads mid-range while suction is already weak. A blocked or dirty filter makes this worse because the motor works harder and draws more current, accelerating the voltage sag. If suction recovers after cleaning the filter, the battery still has usable capacity. If suction stays weak with a clean filter, cell degradation is the cause and a replacement pack is the fix.

Motor cuts out mid-clean and then recovers after a few seconds

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is restricted — blocked filter, clogged inlet, or dense carpet pile — the motor draws more current than the BMS allows and the pack disconnects briefly to protect the cells. The recovery happens once current demand drops and the BMS resets. Check the filter and clear any blockage at the inlet first. If the cutout continues on a clean, unblocked machine, check that the replacement pack's BMS current threshold matches what the PCR-1550M motor expects.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Sichler PCR-1550M has noticeably weaker suction but the battery indicator still shows charge — what's happening?

Aged Ni-MH cells develop higher internal resistance, so voltage sags under motor load before the pack reads as empty. The indicator measures resting voltage, not load voltage, so it lags behind what the motor actually receives. Clean the filter first — a restriction forces the motor to draw more current and worsens voltage sag even on a healthy pack. If suction is still weak with a clean filter, the cells have degraded and a replacement pack will restore full motor output.

The PCR-1550M motor keeps cutting out for a few seconds during use and then comes back on — is this the battery or a fault?

That cut-and-recover pattern is a BMS overcurrent trip. The motor is drawing more current than the battery's protection circuit allows, so it disconnects briefly and resets once demand drops. It most often happens when the filter is partially blocked or the inlet is restricted, forcing the motor to work harder than rated. Clear the filter and check the inlet — if the cutout stops, the pack is fine. If it continues on a clean machine, the BMS current threshold may not match the PCR-1550M motor's start-up draw.

The replacement battery fades noticeably faster than the original did when new — could leaving it on the dock be causing this?

Yes. Ni-MH cells degrade faster under continuous trickle charge than under normal discharge-and-recharge cycles. Charging docks on cordless vacuums are not smart chargers — they push a low maintenance current indefinitely, and prolonged exposure shortens cell capacity over months. Charge the PCR-1550M to full, then remove it from the dock. Only return it to the dock when you need to recharge from a depleted state.
