Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

AEG Electrolux FM Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (900055103)

This is a 3.6V, 3600mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the AEG Electrolux FM series cordless vacuum cleaner. It replaces OEM part number 900055103. When the original cell degrades and the vacuum loses suction power quickly, this cell restores full operating capacity.

  • FM series compatibility: The FM series vacuums share a single battery platform — same 3.6V rail, same connector format, same BMS communication protocol. This cell fits directly without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the FM platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, voltage held steady under motor load, and the charger handshake completed normally.
  • Dock charging habit matters: Do not leave the FM vacuum on the charging dock permanently. Ni-MH cells on continuous trickle charge develop capacity fade faster than cells charged only when depleted. Charge to full, then remove from the dock.

Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low

This is one of the most common complaints on the FM series, and it is rarely a battery problem first. A partially blocked filter forces the motor to draw more current than rated, which pulls cell voltage down prematurely. The battery indicator reads remaining charge, not available current — so the light stays green while suction has already fallen. Clean or replace the filter first, then retest.

Motor cuts out mid-use then restarts after a short pause

This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. When suction is sustained against a blockage — hair wrap around the brush roll, a clogged filter, or a blocked nozzle — current draw spikes above the BMS threshold. The BMS disconnects the cell to protect it, and it resets after the cell cools slightly. Clear the blockage, check the filter, and confirm the brush roll spins freely before restarting.

Frequently Asked Questions

My AEG Electrolux FM vacuum loses suction fast but the battery light hasn't gone red — is the new battery already failing?

The indicator shows state of charge, not available current. A restricted filter forces the motor to pull more current than rated, which drags cell voltage down faster than the indicator reflects. Clean or replace the filter and run the vacuum again — if suction holds longer, the battery is fine. If it still drops early after a clean filter, measure resting cell voltage after a full charge; it should read at or above 4.3V across the pack.

The vacuum cuts out after a few seconds of heavy use, then works again after I wait — what's happening?

The BMS is tripping on overcurrent, not a faulty cell. Sustained restricted airflow — blocked nozzle, clogged filter, or hair wrapped on the brush roll — spikes motor current above the BMS cutoff threshold. The BMS disconnects the cell, and it resets once the load is removed and the cell recovers slightly. Clear the blockage, remove tangled debris from the brush roll, and the cut-outs should stop.

My replacement 900055103 battery won't hold charge after sitting unused for two months — did it go bad in storage?

Ni-MH cells self-discharge at roughly 1–2% per day at room temperature, so two months of storage can leave the cell deeply discharged. A deeply discharged Ni-MH cell may not respond to the first charge attempt — the charger may not detect sufficient voltage to begin charging. Place the battery on charge for a full uninterrupted cycle; if the charger still does not respond, short-connect the cell to a known-good 3.6V Ni-MH source for 60 seconds to raise it above the charger's detection threshold of approximately 2.5V, then retry.
