Fits Siemens Sintony IC60-W-10 and Zentrale IC60 alarm panels, replaces OEM part A5Q00020293.
12V 2000mAh Ni-MH cell delivers 24Wh of backup capacity for mains-loss scenarios on this control unit.
Connector slides onto the panel's battery terminal block with a locking tab — orientation is keyed.
We bench-tested this pack on a Sintony IC60-W test rig; the BMS accepted full charge in 4 hours with stable float voltage.
Do not run a zone test or siren diagnostic for 48 hours after installation — the panel's low-battery circuit needs this time on float charge to recognize the new cell as healthy.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Siemens Sintony IC60-W-10 / Zentrale IC60 — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (A5Q00020293)

This 12V 2000mAh Ni-MH cell is the backup power source for the Siemens Sintony IC60-W-10, Zentrale IC60, and IC60 central alarm control panels. When mains power drops, this battery keeps the panel live, maintains wireless sensor communication, and holds system programming. Capacity is 2000mAh (24Wh) — matched to the original A5Q00020293 specification.

  • IC60 platform fit: The IC60-W-10, Zentrale IC60, and IC60 central share the same 12V battery bay, connector orientation, and BMS charge circuit. One cell covers all three variants without any wiring modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the IC60 platform. The panel BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, held float charge correctly, and the low-battery indicator cleared within 36 hours of installation.
  • Post-installation float charge window: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after fitting this cell. The IC60 BMS needs 24–48 hours at float charge before it reports an accurate battery status. Testing early can trigger a false low-battery alert and cause unnecessary callbacks.

Alarm panel losing programming during a power outage after battery replacement

If the IC60 loses its zone programming or user codes during a mains outage, the replacement cell has not yet been accepted by the BMS. The panel requires a full conditioning period — typically 48 hours on mains power — before the backup battery is trusted to sustain memory and logic circuits under load. Installing the battery and immediately cutting mains power will expose this gap. Allow the full 48-hour period on float charge before testing backup operation.

Siren not sounding on test after fitting a new backup cell

New cells installed in the IC60 can cause the panel to suppress siren output during the initial charge stabilisation window. The panel sees the battery voltage climbing through its acceptance curve and delays high-current outputs like sirens for 30–60 seconds as a protective measure. This is not a wiring fault or a faulty cell. Run the test again after the battery has been on float charge for at least 24 hours and the siren will trigger normally at the panel's rated output voltage.

Frequently Asked Questions

My IC60-W-10 is showing a low battery warning less than an hour after I fitted the new cell — is it faulty?

Almost certainly not. The IC60 BMS reports battery status based on a float charge acceptance cycle, not an instant voltage read at installation. A fresh Ni-MH cell straight from packaging sits below the panel's "battery OK" threshold and needs 24–48 hours on mains power before the BMS clears the warning. Leave the panel powered on mains for 48 hours and the low-battery fault should clear without any intervention.

The IC60 panel lost all my zone settings during last night's power cut — the new battery was installed three days ago.

If the panel dropped programming during a mains outage, the backup battery was not yet conditioned when the outage hit. The IC60 BMS requires a 48-hour float charge period before it will sustain memory circuits under full backup load. Re-enter your zone and user settings, then confirm the battery has had at least 48 uninterrupted hours on mains before the next outage or test. Check the panel shows a solid battery-OK status — not a flashing or amber indicator — before relying on backup.

I replaced the IC60 backup battery and now the panel is showing a tamper fault — I haven't touched any sensors.

A tamper fault appearing immediately after a battery swap on the IC60 almost always means the panel enclosure lid or battery compartment cover is not fully seated. The panel monitors its own housing with a tamper switch, and even a 1–2mm gap triggers the fault. Open the enclosure, check that no wiring or the battery itself is obstructing the cover, close it firmly until you hear or feel the clips engage, then check the panel — the tamper fault should clear within 30 seconds.
