Fits Sieval SV-118 surveying instruments and replaces OEM part number SV10.
3.7V, 1900mAh lithium-ion cell delivers full measurement cycles without mid-session voltage sag.
Compact form factor seats flush in SV-118 battery slot with positive contact alignment.
We bench-tested this cell in the SV-118 measurement mode; BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and held stable discharge under continuous sensor load.
Run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu after installation — the SV-118 maps battery state during this step, and skipping it causes premature low-battery warnings on first field deployment.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sieval SV-118 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (SV10)

This is a 3.7V, 1900mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Sieval SV-118 portable surveying and testing instrument. It uses OEM part number SV10 and fits the SV-118 directly. Voltage and cell geometry match the original pack: 63.78 × 40.94 × 6.03mm.

  • SV-118 platform fit: The SV-118 draws power through a single-cell 3.7V rail. This pack matches that rail, the connector pinout, and the BMS communication expected by the instrument's power management circuit. No adapters needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran the pack through probe initialisation cycles and sustained sensor load sequences. The BMS held voltage through the current spike at probe power-up and did not trip during extended logging draws.
  • First-use calibration step: After installing, run a full calibration cycle through the instrument menu before field deployment. The SV-118 maps battery state during calibration — skipping this step causes premature low-battery warnings during the first measurement session.

BMS cutoff when the SV-118 probe module initialises

At probe power-up, the SV-118 pulls a short current spike as the sensor module initialises. An aged or deeply discharged original pack can't sustain that spike, so the BMS trips and the instrument cuts out immediately. This replacement pack's BMS is rated for that initialisation surge without tripping. If the instrument still cuts at probe power-up after installation, charge the pack fully first — the BMS requires the cell above 3.6V before it will hold through the spike.

Display percentage jumping or resetting on reboot after pack swap

The SV-118 tracks battery percentage against a learned voltage curve from the old cell. After installing a new pack, the instrument's indicator often reads incorrectly for the first few charge-discharge cycles. This is a voltage-threshold recalibration issue, not a fault with the new battery. Run two full charge and discharge cycles through normal instrument operation and the display will stabilise to accurate readings.

Frequently Asked Questions

My SV-118 powers on fine but shuts off the moment I start a USB data transfer to my PC — is the battery dying?

This is a combined-load dropout, not a failing cell. During USB transfer, the instrument runs the sensor system, the data interface, and the display simultaneously, and an aged or low-capacity pack can't sustain the combined draw — voltage sags and the BMS cuts out. We saw the same behaviour on the bench with depleted original packs; this replacement held voltage through the full transfer load. Charge the new pack to 100% before your next transfer session.

The SV-118 won't charge at all after sitting unused in the carry case for several months — is the pack completely dead?

Most likely the BMS has entered sleep mode because the cell voltage dropped below the recovery threshold after prolonged storage. Many chargers won't initiate a charge cycle when the pack reads below roughly 2.5V. Connect the instrument to the charger and leave it for at least 30–45 minutes without interruption — some chargers need that window to trickle-charge the cell back above the BMS wake-up threshold before normal charging begins. If the charge indicator still doesn't activate after that, the original cell has likely self-discharged past recovery and this replacement pack is the correct next step.

My SV-118 readings drift or reset mid-logging session even though the battery indicator shows plenty of charge remaining.

This is a voltage dropout under sustained sensor load, not a display error. During a long logging session, a degraded cell's internal resistance causes voltage to sag under continuous draw, even when the resting voltage — what the indicator reads — looks healthy. The instrument's measurement circuit loses stable power and resets the active reading. We confirmed on the bench that this replacement pack maintains voltage within the instrument's operating threshold through extended sensor load. Swap the pack and re-run the calibration cycle before your next field session.
