Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

SkyCaddie Golf LINX — 3.7V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (CP-SCGL)
This 3.7V, 200mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the SkyCaddie Golf LINX GPS smartwatch. The Golf LINX is a wrist-worn golf GPS device that shows course maps, hole distances, and shot tracking data. Cell capacity drops after repeated charge cycles — swapping the battery restores normal multi-day performance.
- Golf LINX platform fit: The CP-SCGL cell is the only cell that fits the Golf LINX housing. The connector pinout and BMS handshake are specific to this watch platform. Using a generic cell with a different connector will break the fuel gauge communication and the watch will report incorrect charge levels.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles on the Golf LINX platform. The BMS accepted the new cell without error flags, fuel gauge registration completed after one full charge cycle, and GPS acquisition functioned normally throughout testing.
- Post-swap charge cycle on the Golf LINX: After fitting this cell, place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and charge to 100% before first use. The fuel gauge IC on the Golf LINX platform loses its charge reference when the old cell is removed. Without a full charge cycle from near-zero, the watch will display inaccurate battery percentages for days.
Why the Golf LINX GPS drains this new cell faster than expected in the first week
A new lithium-polymer cell has a slightly different internal impedance profile compared to the aged cell it replaces. The Golf LINX GPS and BLE radios draw current based on the impedance they measure at startup, and the first several charge cycles recalibrate that draw. Expect drain to appear heavier than normal for the first five to seven days. After three to four full charge cycles, the fuel gauge IC settles on the correct current profile and reported battery life stabilises.
Golf LINX not pairing to the app after battery replacement
Removing the battery cuts power to the BLE stack and the active pairing session is lost. The phone retains the old device record but the watch no longer recognises it. Go into your phone's Bluetooth settings, forget the Golf LINX device entry, then re-pair from scratch through the SkyCaddie app. The watch must be powered on and showing the home screen before the app can see it during the pairing scan.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Golf LINX shows 0% and won't turn on right after I put the new battery in — did I get a dead cell?
The cell is not dead. The fuel gauge IC on the Golf LINX loses its charge reference the moment the old battery is disconnected. When a new cell goes in, the IC reads the resting voltage as zero until it completes a calibration cycle. Place the watch on its magnetic charger immediately and leave it until it reads 100% — the watch will power on and operate normally once that first full charge cycle completes.
The Golf LINX charge contacts don't seem to be charging after I reassembled the watch — the charging indicator never appears.
The magnetic charger puck aligns to specific pads on the watch case, and if the back cover shifted slightly during reassembly, those pads sit out of alignment. Remove the puck, reseat the watch so the magnets click to their natural resting position, and check that no debris is on the contact surface. If the indicator still does not appear, check the pad area under magnification for any adhesive residue from the battery swap — clean with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry fully before reseating the charger.
The Golf LINX battery is draining in one day after the swap — it used to last several rounds.
Single-day drain on the Golf LINX after a swap usually points to the always-on display and continuous GPS polling running together without the fuel gauge correctly throttling background tasks. Confirm the watch software is on the latest firmware version, as older builds have a known background GPS wake bug that does not respect low-battery suspension. Also check that course auto-detection is not running continuously — disable it when off the course. If drain continues after firmware update, perform a full power-off reset by holding the side button for 10 seconds, then charge to 100% before powering back on.
