Fits Sony DualShock 4 Wireless Controller models CUH-ZCT1H, CUH-ZCT1U, CUH-ZCT1E; replaces OEM part LIP1522.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 1300mAh delivers the charge density needed for wireless transmission and haptic rumble without voltage sag.
Connector seats into the DualShock 4 battery slot with a single locking tab; insert contact-first, push until the retention clip engages fully.
We bench-tested this cell in a CUH-ZCT1H under sustained wireless play with rumble enabled; BMS held steady voltage until final cutoff with no premature shutdown.
On first use after installation, run one complete wireless play session to full automatic cutoff before recharging — the console fuel gauge calibrates its empty reference point against that initial discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sony DualShock 4 Wireless Controller — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (LIP1522)

This is a 3.7V, 1300mAh Li-ion replacement cell for the Sony DualShock 4 Wireless Controller. It fits CUH-ZCT1H, CUH-ZCT1U, CUH-ZCT1E, and related variants that use the OEM part number LIP1522. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds enough charge to get through a play session.

  • CUH-ZCT1 series compatibility: All CUH-ZCT1 variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and charge IC handshake — this cell slots in without modification and communicates correctly with the controller's charge management circuit.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell in a CUH-ZCT1U with rumble and wireless active. The BMS held the charge curve through full cycle without tripping an early cutoff, and the charge IC accepted the cell on the first connection.
  • First-cycle calibration on the DualShock 4: After installing, run one complete wireless play session until the controller shuts off automatically — do not plug in early. The DualShock 4 fuel gauge IC sets its empty reference point against the first full discharge cycle, so cutting it short skews the gauge reading for every session after.

Why the DualShock 4 fuel gauge jumps around after a cell swap

The PS4 controller uses a coulomb-counting fuel gauge that tracks charge in and out to estimate remaining capacity. When you fit a new cell, the IC still has discharge curve data mapped to the old, degraded cell. It takes two to three full charge-discharge cycles for the gauge to relearn the new cell's actual voltage-to-capacity curve. Until it does, percentage readings can jump by 20–30 points mid-session. Run three full cycles and the gauge stabilises.

Controller drops wireless connection before the battery indicator hits the last bar

This happens when voltage sags below the wireless radio's operating floor before the on-screen battery icon reflects it. The DualShock 4 combines Bluetooth transmission, motion sensor polling, and rumble motors on the same cell — that combined draw causes a momentary voltage dip the gauge doesn't catch fast enough. A new cell that hasn't completed its conditioning cycles will sag harder under this load. After three to five full charge-discharge cycles, internal resistance drops and the sag narrows. If dropouts persist past five cycles, check that the connector is fully seated — a partial connection adds resistance and worsens sag at the same current draw.

Frequently Asked Questions

My DualShock 4 isn't lasting as long as expected after putting in the new battery — did I get a dud cell?

New Li-ion cells don't ship at full rated capacity. They need three to five complete charge-discharge cycles to reach 1300mAh. Run the controller to automatic cutoff, charge to full, and repeat — measured play time increases noticeably with each cycle. By cycle five you should be at or near rated capacity.

The PS4 battery percentage is jumping all over the place since I swapped the cell — what's wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The DualShock 4's fuel gauge IC spent months learning the discharge curve of your old, degraded battery. With a new cell fitted, that curve mapping is off, so the percentage reading overcorrects as voltage changes. Run two to three full charge-discharge cycles and the IC remaps to the new cell's actual curve. Readings stabilise by cycle three.

The PS4 is charging my new DualShock 4 battery slowly — is the controller or cable faulty?

The charge IC in the DualShock 4 applies a conservative current limit on the first charge of an unrecognised cell — this is intentional protection behaviour, not a fault. It clears after one full charge cycle completes. On the second charge you should see the controller reach full charge at its normal rate. If slow charging continues past the second cycle, check the micro-USB port for debris or bent pins.
