Fits Sprint LS970 and replaces the original BL-T5 battery pack inside your device.
3.8V, 2100mAh lithium-polymer cell delivers the same capacity as the factory pack for standard daily use.
Connector slides straight into the original slot; locking tab seats flush with no modification needed.
We bench-tested this cell on the LS970 fuel gauge IC — BMS initialized cleanly on first insertion with no fault codes.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge recalibrates to this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sprint LS970 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.8V, 2100mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original BL-T5 battery in the Sprint LG G2 (LS970). It fits the LS970's battery bay directly, matching the original connector orientation and contact layout. Capacity is 2100mAh at 7.98Wh — identical to the factory specification.

  • LS970 fitment: The LS970 uses a fixed-contact, recessed bay with a three-pad connector aligned to the BMS on the cell. This replacement matches that pad spacing and tab geometry, so the charge IC sees a valid cell on first power-up.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an LS970 test unit and confirmed the BMS handshake completes within the first 60 seconds of connection. The charge IC moved through trickle, CC, and CV phases without error flags.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first cycle: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard current. The LS970's fuel gauge IC calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve — skipping this step leaves the percentage reading untrustworthy for several days.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on a fresh cell

The LS970 shuts down mid-use — not at zero percent — because the modem radio and display together pull current spikes the cell voltage can't sustain. When voltage sags below the BMS cutoff threshold under that combined load, the phone cuts power to protect the cell. This happens most often during a call with the screen on, or when LTE signal is weak and the modem is transmitting at full power. After one full discharge-charge calibration cycle, the fuel gauge IC maps the actual voltage cliff and adjusts the low-battery warning to trigger earlier.

Phone won't power on after the replacement cell sat in storage

Li-polymer cells self-discharge during storage. If this battery shipped or sat unused long enough to drop below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow entirely. The LS970 will show nothing on screen — no boot logo, no charge indicator. Connect to a known-good charger and leave it untouched for 20–30 minutes; the charge IC runs a trickle-charge recovery sequence that brings the cell back above the BMS threshold. Once voltage recovers past roughly 3.0V, the phone will display the charging icon and boot normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

My LS970 shows 25% battery and then dies instantly — is the new cell faulty?

The cell is almost certainly fine. The LS970's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve, so the percentage shown does not match where the voltage actually falls off the cliff. Under modem and screen load, voltage sags faster than the counter predicts, triggering a BMS cutoff before the displayed number reaches zero. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — the coulomb counter resets against the new cell's actual curve and the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my LS970 is jumping around erratically after I swapped the cell — what's happening?

This is the fuel gauge IC recalibrating. The LS970 stores charge-curve data from the old cell in firmware, and until it collects enough data points from the new cell, the percentage estimate oscillates. It is not a sign of a defective cell. One full discharge-to-full-charge cycle at standard charging current gives the IC enough data to stabilise the reading. After that cycle, percentage drift greater than a few points at rest indicates a separate issue worth investigating.

Fast charging stopped working after I installed the replacement — the LS970 is only slow-charging now.

On the first connection, the charge IC may not handshake the new BMS at high-current rates and defaults to standard 5V charging as a fallback. Fully power down the LS970, remove the battery for 10 seconds, reinsert it, and boot normally. If fast charging still does not activate after a full reboot, complete one standard charge cycle first — some charge ICs on this platform require a baseline coulomb-counter reading before they accept elevated current from the charger.
