Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Stabo ST 930 — 4.8V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This 4.8V 2000mAh Ni-MH battery replaces the rechargeable cell in the Stabo ST 930 baby monitor parent unit. It restores cordless operation so you can carry the parent unit between rooms without being tethered to a wall socket. Voltage and capacity match the original spec exactly.

  • ST 930 parent unit fit: The Stabo ST 930 parent unit runs a 4.8V Ni-MH pack at this cell count and form factor. The replacement sits in the same bay and connects to the same charge circuit — no modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through the ST 930 charge circuit and confirmed the parent unit accepted charge, held standby, and powered the display and audio receiver without fault. The BMS did not trip during normal operation.
  • Re-pair after fitting: Swapping the battery cuts power to the parent unit completely. The ST 930 loses its wireless link to the transmitter unit when power drops. After fitting this battery and charging, run the pairing sequence from the parent unit menu before placing it in use.

Parent unit draining overnight during active monitoring

Running the ST 930 parent unit through the night with the screen on is a sustained draw — the display backlight, audio receiver, and alert circuits all pull current continuously. Ni-MH cells are sensitive to sustained moderate loads; a partially degraded pack will drop voltage faster under these conditions. Enabling the screen timeout in the parent unit settings cuts backlight draw significantly without affecting audio alerts. Charge the parent unit fully each evening before use for consistent overnight capacity.

Range drops noticeably after fitting a new battery

The ST 930 parent unit's radio transmitter draws more current at longer range, and its output power is voltage-sensitive. A freshly fitted Ni-MH battery that hasn't completed a full charge cycle will sit below peak voltage, limiting radio output. This shows up as dropped audio, static, or a weak signal indicator at distances that worked fine before. Charge the parent unit fully — to the point the charge indicator clears — before testing range across rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

My ST 930 parent unit won't connect to the transmitter unit after I swapped the battery — how do I fix this?

Removing the battery cuts all power to the parent unit, which clears the stored wireless link to the transmitter. The ST 930 doesn't retain its pairing through a full power loss. Charge the parent unit first, then run the pairing sequence from the parent unit's menu with the transmitter unit powered on nearby. Once paired, the link holds through normal use as long as the battery isn't removed again.

The night vision on the camera isn't working after I replaced the battery — the image is black at night.

The ST 930 camera's IR LEDs require stable voltage from the parent unit's radio link to trigger night mode correctly. If the parent unit battery is low or hasn't completed its first full charge, the signal strength drops and the camera may not receive the command to switch IR on. This is a different issue from a pairing failure — the units can be connected but the IR trigger still won't fire below a certain signal threshold. Charge the parent unit fully to 4.8V before testing night vision again.

The ST 930 parent unit screen switches on during the night and drains the battery before morning — is there a setting to stop this?

The screen activates on incoming sound alerts by default, and with sensitivity set high the backlight triggers repeatedly through the night. Each activation burns through Ni-MH capacity faster than standby mode. Go into the parent unit display settings and reduce backlight duration or enable the shortest screen timeout available. Lowering the sound sensitivity threshold also reduces unnecessary activations and extends how long the charge lasts overnight.
