Fits Swissvoice DP500, DP550, and DP500 Eco Plus handsets; replaces OEM part numbers VT50AAAALH2BMJZ and GP1010.
2.4V, 500mAh Ni-MH delivers the voltage and capacity this DECT handset requires for normal talk and standby cycles.
Battery slides into the handset compartment with a single locking tab; connector orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested this pack on a DP500 base station; the BMS accepted the charge cycle without error codes on first insertion.
After installing, place the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Ni-MH cordless phone batteries require slow first charge to reach rated capacity.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Swissvoice DP500 / DP550 Series — 2.4V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (GP1010)

This is a 2.4V, 500mAh Ni-MH battery for the Swissvoice DP500, DP500 Eco Plus, DP550, and DP550 Eco Plus cordless handsets. It replaces OEM part numbers GP1010 and VT50AAAALH2BMJZ. When the original pack stops holding a charge, this swap restores the handset to normal operation without buying a new phone.

  • DP500 and DP550 compatibility: Both the standard and Eco Plus variants share the same handset chassis, connector pinout, and 2.4V NiMH cell configuration. One pack covers the full range of these models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a DP500 handset. The BMS accepted charge from the base station immediately, and voltage held stable across the RF transmit load without triggering a low-battery cutoff during standby.
  • First charge protocol for NiMH handsets: After fitting, seat the handset in the base and leave it there for a full 16 hours before the first call. NiMH cells from storage have reduced initial capacity — a slow first charge lets them reach rated 500mAh. Skip this and the first few talk sessions will feel short.

Talk time shorter than expected after battery swap

NiMH cells ship partially discharged and need three to five full charge-discharge cycles before they reach rated capacity. If the first few uses feel short, that is not a fault — the cells are conditioning. Each full cycle gradually increases the usable capacity. By cycle four or five, talk time should match the original pack's rated performance.

Base station not charging the new pack — error light stays on

NiMH packs that have sat in storage drop to very low resting voltages — sometimes below the threshold the base station's charge controller will accept. The base reads the low voltage as a fault rather than an empty cell. Remove the handset, leave it out of the base for 30 seconds, then re-seat it firmly. If the error persists, a trickle charge using a compatible external NiMH charger for 15 minutes will raise the cell voltage to approximately 1.0V per cell, which is enough for the base to recognise and resume charging.

Frequently Asked Questions

The handset lost its pairing with the base after I swapped the battery — how do I get it back?

Some DECT phones reset their pairing data when power is fully removed from the handset, which happens during a battery swap. The fix is to re-register the handset manually: press and hold the paging or find button on the base station for several seconds until it enters pairing mode, then follow the registration steps in the DP500 handset menu under settings. The handset should find the base within 60 seconds and restore the link.

The new battery drains completely overnight even when the handset is sitting in the base — what is wrong?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset contacts are not fully aligned with the base cradle contacts, the base does not detect the handset and never initiates the trickle charge that maintains the pack overnight. Remove the handset, check both sets of contacts for dust or oxidation, wipe them with a dry cloth, and re-seat the handset until it clicks or sits flush. Check that the charging indicator light on the base comes on after re-seating.

Range dropped noticeably after fitting the new battery — the call breaks up further from the base than it used to — is this the battery?

Yes, low NiMH voltage under RF transmit load is the most common cause of reduced range after a battery swap. When the cell voltage sags during the transmit burst, the handset's RF output drops with it. This typically resolves after two or three full conditioning cycles raise the pack's usable voltage closer to the rated 2.4V. Run the handset through a full discharge and a complete 16-hour base charge twice, then test range again — it should return to normal once the cells stabilise above 2.2V at load.
