Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Symbol P360 / P460 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (50-14000-079)
This is a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery for the Symbol P360, P370, P460, and P470 handheld barcode scanners. These units are common in retail and warehouse pick-and-pack environments where scanners run through full shifts. The pack replaces OEM references including 50-14000-079, KT-BTYPL-01, and 82-106212-01.
- P360 / P370 / P460 / P470 platform fit: These four models share the same battery bay geometry, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol — one pack covers the full range without modification or adapter.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on the P460 platform. The BMS responded correctly to cradle charge signals and held stable voltage under repeated scan-trigger inrush events without tripping into protection mode.
- First-shift cradle protocol: After installing this pack, place the scanner in its cradle for a full charge cycle before use. Scan-trigger inrush current is highest when the cell is near minimum charge — a pre-charged cell prevents false BMS protection trips on the first shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
A charging error on the cradle display after fitting a new battery is almost always a contact resistance issue, not a faulty pack. The P360-series dock uses spring-loaded pogo pins that collect oxidation and debris quickly in warehouse environments. High contact resistance causes the charger circuit to read an abnormal load signature and flag a fault. Wipe the gold contacts on both the battery and the cradle dock with a dry cloth, reseat the scanner firmly, and the error should clear within one charge cycle.
Scanner losing wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During high-frequency scanning, the P460 and P370 draw simultaneously from the wireless radio and the scan trigger — two inrush loads hitting the cell at nearly the same moment. If the cell voltage sags below the radio module's minimum operating threshold, the connection drops mid-burst. This happens most often when a battery is below 20% charge. If your scanner is dropping its wireless link during rapid scanning, top up the pack in the cradle and retest — a fully charged cell holds voltage above 3.6V under combined load, which keeps the radio stable.

Frequently Asked Questions
My P370 scanner stops reading barcodes right after I swap in a new battery — is the battery dead on arrival?
It is not dead. When a Li-ion pack ships, it carries a partial storage charge — typically around 3.5V — which can be below the threshold the laser or imager module needs for full power output. Place the scanner in the cradle and charge the new pack fully before use. Once the cell reaches 3.7V, the imager powers up correctly and scanning resumes without issue.
The scanner gets noticeably warm after a few hours of continuous use — is something wrong with the pack?
Nothing is wrong. The P360-series housing is compact with minimal thermal mass, so heat from sustained combined draw — scan trigger plus wireless radio running simultaneously — has nowhere to go and builds up in the shell. This is normal under heavy pick-and-pack workloads. If the scanner becomes too hot to hold comfortably, rotate it with a second pack and allow the warm unit to cool in the open cradle before the next shift.
Our P460 batteries used to last a full shift but this pack seems to fade faster as the shift goes on — what causes that?
Capacity fade during a shift usually comes from scan burst frequency and wireless polling combined, not a weak pack. High scan rates and aggressive wireless polling intervals pull more current per minute than light use, and the cell voltage curve drops faster under sustained load. Check whether the polling interval on the P460 has been set to a shorter cycle than necessary — loosening the poll rate reduces average current draw. If the scanner is running continuous high-frequency scans throughout a full shift, a second charged pack rotated at the halfway point is the practical fix.
