Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Phaser P360 / P370 / P460 / P470 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion cell replaces the factory battery in the Phaser P360, P370, P460, and P470 handheld barcode scanners. These are compact mobile data terminals used in warehouse, retail, and inventory environments. Same voltage, same chemistry, same form factor as the original.
- P360 / P370 / P460 / P470 platform fit: These four models share a common battery bay and connector spec. The BMS handshake is identical across the range, so one cell covers all four units without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through charge and discharge cycles on a P360 unit. The BMS accepted the cell immediately, protection circuits triggered correctly at threshold, and the scanner powered through both scan-trigger and wireless radio draw without fault.
- First-shift inrush protection: After installing a fresh cell, seat the scanner in its cradle and run a full charge cycle before pulling it onto the floor. Scan-trigger inrush current peaks highest when the cell is near minimum — a pre-charged pack prevents false BMS trips during the first pick-and-pack shift.
Cradle showing a charging error on a new pack
Charging docks on the P360 series read the pack through spring-loaded contact pins. If those pins are dirty or the pack isn't fully seated, the dock throws a charge fault even though the battery itself is fine. Wipe the gold contacts on both the pack and the cradle with a dry cloth, then reseat the scanner firmly until it clicks. If the fault clears, the issue was contact resistance — not a defective cell. A healthy dock will show a steady charge indicator within 30 seconds of a clean reseat.
Scanner dropping wireless connection during rapid scan bursts
During a fast scan sequence, the imager and the wireless radio draw current simultaneously. On a cell that's below roughly 3.5V, this combined inrush can cause a momentary voltage sag that drops the radio connection. The scanner may appear functional — screen on, trigger responding — but the wireless link drops until the cell recovers. Charge the pack to full before a high-volume shift, and if the drops persist mid-shift, check that the battery contacts are clean and making firm connection inside the bay.

Frequently Asked Questions
My P360 won't read barcodes after I swapped the battery — the scanner powers on but the laser doesn't fire properly. What's wrong?
The imager or laser needs a minimum voltage to fire at full power, and a freshly installed cell that hasn't been charged yet may sit below that threshold. Put the scanner in its cradle and charge the new pack fully before use — this is the most common cause of weak or failed reads right after a battery swap. Once fully charged, the scan trigger should fire cleanly. If the problem continues on a full charge, check the battery contacts in the bay for debris or corrosion.
The scanner runs through the new battery much faster than the old one ever did — is something drawing it down?
Scan burst frequency and wireless polling interval both pull from the same cell, and high-traffic shifts compound the draw significantly. Compare how often the scanner is actively scanning and whether Bluetooth or Wi-Fi is set to a high polling rate — both are adjustable in the device settings. Also confirm the replacement cell reached a full charge before its first shift, since a partially charged cell will show accelerated depletion. A full charge from the cradle should bring endurance in line with what the original pack delivered when it was new.
The scanner gets noticeably warm after a few hours of continuous use — is that a battery issue?
Sustained scanning plus continuous wireless transmission generates heat inside the enclosed housing, and that's normal for the P360 class under heavy load. The Li-ion cell itself produces some heat during discharge, but it becomes a concern only if the case is hot to the touch rather than just warm. If the scanner is genuinely hot, check that the battery bay cover is fully closed and seated — a gap in the housing traps heat instead of dissipating it. Let the unit cool to ambient before the next shift and monitor whether the heat recurs at the same point in the charge cycle.
