Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

T-Mobile SDA II Music — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 3.7V, 2200mAh Li-ion cell that fits the T-Mobile SDA II Music and the broader SDA family — including the SDA, SDA II, and SDA US. It replaces the original battery when capacity has dropped or the cell no longer holds a charge. Voltage and form factor match the original T-Mobile spec.
- SDA family compatibility: The SDA, SDA II, SDA II Music, and SDA US all run on the same 3.7V single-cell Li-ion platform with a shared connector and BMS handshake. One cell revision covers the entire lineup without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the SDA platform. The BMS accepted the cell without fault codes, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.2V, and low-voltage cutoff engaged cleanly under load.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins on an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity defect. When the modem or screen draws peak current, a new uncalibrated cell can sag below the BMS cutoff threshold before the percentage reading reflects actual depletion. The fuel gauge IC is still running the old cell's discharge map, so the reported percentage and the real cell voltage are out of sync. Run one full discharge down to shutdown, then charge to 100% uninterrupted — this resets the coulomb counter against the new cell curve.
Phone warm near the battery during the first few charge cycles
A fresh high-impedance cell generates more heat during the first few charges as the charge IC pushes current into an uncalibrated cell. This is normal behaviour and typically resolves after two or three full cycles. If the device stays warm past the fifth cycle or gets hot to the touch, check that charge current isn't stuck at a high rate due to a firmware state from the previous battery. A full power-off restart between the first and second charge often clears this.

Frequently Asked Questions
My T-Mobile SDA II Music won't turn on at all after sitting unused for months — is the battery dead?
Most likely the cell discharged below 2.5V during storage and the BMS has locked out to prevent damage. Plug into a known-working charger and leave it connected for at least 30–40 minutes before pressing the power button — the charge IC needs time to trickle current into the cell before the BMS will release the lockout. If the screen shows nothing after an hour, try a different USB cable and charger brick. Once the cell recovers above 3.0V, normal charging resumes.
The battery percentage jumps around erratically — showing 60%, then suddenly dropping to 15% with no warning. What's happening?
The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. After a cell swap, the coulomb counter has no accurate reference point for the new cell's voltage-to-capacity relationship, so percentage readings are unreliable until it recalibrates. Run one complete uninterrupted discharge — use the phone normally until it shuts off on its own — then charge to 100% without interruption. After that single full cycle, the fuel gauge IC will have a new baseline and percentage readings will stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working after I installed the replacement battery — the phone only trickle charges now.
On the first cycle after a cell swap, the charge IC often defaults to a conservative trickle rate because it hasn't received a valid handshake from the new BMS. This is a protective default, not a fault. Perform one full discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge to 100% using the original T-Mobile charger — the BMS and charge IC exchange protocol data during this cycle. Fast charge typically resumes from the second cycle onward once both sides have confirmed cell parameters.
