Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Telstra 5G Wi-Fi Pro — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery
This 3.85V, 4000mAh (15.4Wh) Li-Polymer battery replaces the original cell in the Telstra 5G Wi-Fi Pro mobile hotspot. It restores full portability when the factory battery no longer holds a usable charge. The 5G Wi-Fi Pro uses this cell to power both the 5G modem and the Wi-Fi broadcast radio simultaneously.
- 5G Wi-Fi Pro fit: The 5G Wi-Fi Pro runs two radio stacks off a single cell — the 5G modem and the Wi-Fi AP. Both draw from the same 3.85V rail, so the replacement cell must match the original voltage and physical footprint exactly. This battery does both at 80.80 × 50.26 × 7.50mm.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell under combined 5G modem and Wi-Fi load with eight client devices connected. Voltage held above 3.6V through the discharge curve and the BMS did not trigger a protective cutoff under normal session draw.
- Ventilation during extended sessions: Keep the hotspot on a hard, flat surface — not a couch cushion or bag pocket. When connected devices are far from the hotspot, the cellular radio pushes to maximum transmit power. That heat accumulates inside the enclosure and directly stresses the battery cell over time.
Why the 5G Wi-Fi Pro drops connections mid-session on a new battery
The 5G modem and the Wi-Fi radio both spike current draw at the same moment — the modem is retransmitting data while the Wi-Fi stack is servicing multiple clients. A worn or undersized cell sags below the BMS cutoff threshold during that combined peak, and the device resets. A fresh 4000mAh cell with a healthy internal resistance profile sustains that dual-radio spike without the voltage floor dropping far enough to trigger a cutoff. If drop-outs persist after battery replacement, check whether the hotspot is at the edge of 5G coverage — signal hunting multiplies modem draw significantly.
Hotspot shows a charge indicator but will not boot after sitting unused
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge slowly during storage. If the 5G Wi-Fi Pro has been sitting unused for several weeks, the cell may have dropped below the minimum boot voltage — typically around 3.0V — even if the LED still flickers. The BMS may also enter a locked low-voltage state that blocks normal charging. Connect the hotspot to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes before attempting to power it on; this allows the charger to trickle-raise the cell above the BMS re-initialisation threshold of approximately 3.2V.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Telstra 5G Wi-Fi Pro keeps dropping all connected devices for a few seconds then reconnecting — is this a battery problem?
Yes, this is a known symptom of voltage sag under combined load. The 5G modem and Wi-Fi radio spike current at the same time — especially when multiple devices are active — and a degraded cell drops below the BMS cutoff threshold, causing a brief reset. A new 4000mAh cell restores the headroom needed to absorb that dual-radio peak. If drop-outs continue after replacement, move the hotspot closer to a window to reduce 5G signal hunting, which is the next biggest current spike after the battery itself.
The battery drains much faster when I'm in a 5G area compared to 4G — is something wrong with the replacement cell?
Nothing is wrong — this is normal 5G modem behaviour. A 5G modem draws roughly 30–50% more power than a 4G modem at equivalent signal strength, because the 5G radio stack processes significantly more data and maintains additional frequency bands simultaneously. Add multiple connected client devices and poor indoor 5G penetration, and the hotspot's radio is working at near-maximum output continuously. The 4000mAh cell matches the original spec; the draw increase is from the network mode, not the battery. Switch to 4G-only mode in the hotspot settings if you need to extend the charge cycle in low-signal environments.
My Telstra 5G Wi-Fi Pro won't turn on at all after I replaced the battery — the LED doesn't respond to the power button.
A new Li-Polymer cell can arrive partially discharged, and if it's below approximately 3.0V the BMS will block power-on entirely as a protection measure. Connect the hotspot to a wall charger — not a laptop USB port, which may not supply enough current to wake the BMS — and leave it for at least 20 minutes without pressing the power button. Once the cell rises above the BMS re-initialisation threshold of around 3.2V, the LED should respond and the device will boot normally.
