Fits Thunderobot G170P and G170P-47108G1TG8808G gaming notebooks replacing the OEM battery pack.
Delivers 14.8V at 5200mAh capacity for 76.96Wh total energy — matches original output to restore full CPU and display runtime on unplugged operation.
Connector seats into the G170P battery slot with standard locking tab orientation; no adapter required for mechanical fit.
We bench-tested against G170P hardware; BMS accepted full charge cycle on first insertion with no fault codes or cutoff anomalies.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Thunderobot G170P Series — 14.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 14.8V, 5200mAh (76.96Wh) Li-ion battery for the Thunderobot G170P gaming notebook, including the G170P-47108G1TG8808G variant. It replaces the original cell when the existing pack no longer holds charge or causes unexpected shutdowns. The voltage and connector match the G170P motherboard's power input spec directly.

  • G170P and G170P-47108G1TG8808G compatibility: Both variants run the same 14.8V four-cell series configuration with the same BMS handshake protocol, so one replacement pack covers the full G170P line without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge, full discharge, and a high-CPU load draw on the G170P platform. The BMS maintained stable voltage delivery under sustained GPU and CPU load and engaged cutoff correctly at low-cell protection threshold.
  • First-cycle conditioning on the G170P: After fitting this pack, run the laptop down to hibernate cutoff on battery power alone, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after a cell swap.

Why the G170P shuts down at 20–30% charge shown

A degraded original cell loses the ability to sustain voltage under the combined load of the G170P's CPU, GPU, and display at full brightness. When cell voltage drops sharply — even while the OS fuel gauge still reads 20–30% — the BMS triggers an emergency cutoff to protect the cells. The fuel gauge IC hasn't yet mapped the new cell's actual discharge curve after a swap, so the cutoff point looks premature. Two full discharge-to-hibernate and charge-to-100% cycles recalibrate the fuel gauge and shift the reported cutoff back to the correct low point.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting

The G170P BIOS reads health data from EEPROM stored on the battery's onboard controller, not from live cell measurements. A new pack ships with factory EEPROM values that haven't been written by this specific machine, so the BIOS flags it as unknown or degraded on first boot. This clears after the BIOS completes a full learn cycle — one full discharge to hibernate and a complete uninterrupted charge to 100%. After that cycle, the BIOS rewrites the health register and the warning disappears.

Frequently Asked Questions

My G170P shows the new battery as 0% and won't charge — is the pack dead out of the box?

It's not a dead pack — the OS fuel gauge IC has no calibration data for the new cell yet, so it reads 0% or refuses to display a value. Plug in the charger and leave it connected for a full uninterrupted charge to 100% without using the laptop. After one complete charge cycle, the fuel gauge IC writes its first reference point and the reading normalises.

The G170P battery info screen shows the wrong Wh rating compared to the spec sheet — why?

The Wh figure in Windows or the BIOS is pulled from the EEPROM on the battery controller, which stores the rated design capacity from the factory. The actual electrochemical capacity of the new cell can differ slightly from that EEPROM value until the system runs a learn cycle. This is a data mismatch, not a capacity defect. Run one full discharge-to-hibernate followed by a full charge and the system will update the register to reflect real-world capacity.

The G170P charging stops at 80% and won't go higher — is the replacement cell faulty?

A hard stop at 80% on the G170P is almost always a BIOS-level charge limit, not a cell fault. Thunderobot gaming notebooks include a battery conservation mode in their system software or BIOS that caps charging at 80% to reduce heat during sustained gaming sessions. Check the Thunderobot control software or the BIOS power settings and disable the charge limit. Once turned off, charge the pack fully to confirm it reaches 100%.
