Fits TekBook 822 and 1100DB models; replaces OEM part numbers DR36 and DR36S.
12V, 3800mAh (45.6Wh) Ni-MH chemistry delivers steady voltage across the full discharge curve for consistent CPU and display performance.
Connector type and orientation match the original slot; physical dimensions are 139.50 x 89.00 x 20.00mm with standard locking tab engagement.
We bench-tested this cell against a TekBook 822 motherboard; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion and charged to full capacity without fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears false health warnings that appear after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

TJ Technolo TekBook 822 / 1100DB — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (DR36)

This is a 12V, 3800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the TJ Technolo TekBook 822 and 1100DB notebooks. It matches the original DR36 and DR36S part numbers and slots directly into the same bay. Capacity is rated at 45.6Wh, consistent with the factory specification.

  • TekBook 822 and 1100DB compatibility: Both models run the same 12V battery rail, use the same physical connector, and share the DR36 part number — the BMS handshake is identical across the two platforms.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell under a combined CPU and display load. The BMS held voltage through full discharge without tripping, and charge acceptance was stable from first cycle to third.
  • First-cycle reset on the TekBook platform: After fitting this cell, run one full discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on these notebooks.

Why the TekBook 822 shuts down at 20–30% after a battery swap

The BIOS fuel gauge IC retains capacity data from the old, degraded cell. When you fit a new cell, that stale data causes the system to miscalculate the remaining charge floor. Under combined CPU and display load, the laptop hits what it thinks is empty while the new cell still has usable charge left. Running two or three full discharge-to-recharge cycles recalibrates the fuel gauge IC against the actual capacity of the replacement cell and stops the premature shutdowns.

BIOS reporting battery health as poor immediately after fitting a new cell

The health warning comes from EEPROM data written by the old cell — not from any fault in the replacement. The BIOS reads cycle count, rated Wh, and wear level from that stored data and flags the discrepancy when the new cell's EEPROM doesn't match what was last recorded. To clear it, complete the full discharge-to-hibernate-cutoff and uninterrupted charge-to-100% cycle described above. After one full learn cycle, the BIOS rewrites the EEPROM reference and the health warning should clear.

Frequently Asked Questions

The TekBook 822 fuel gauge is jumping all over the place — showing 60%, then 90%, then cutting to 15% within minutes. Is the replacement cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated against the old cell's charge curve, so it misreads the new cell's voltage profile and gives erratic percentage readings. This stabilises after two to three full discharge-to-recharge cycles. Run each discharge down to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%, and the gauge will track correctly by the third cycle.

The TekBook 1100DB system info is showing a Wh rating that doesn't match the 45.6Wh on the replacement battery label — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong. The Wh figure shown in system info is pulled from EEPROM data left by the original cell, not measured live from the new one. The BIOS reads the stored rated capacity and displays that until the battery learn cycle overwrites it. Complete one full discharge to hibernate cutoff followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100%, and the BIOS will update the EEPROM reference to reflect the replacement cell's actual 45.6Wh rating.

New battery fitted to the TekBook 822 but the charge stopped at around 80% and won't go higher — is the BIOS blocking the charge?

Some TekBook BIOS versions include a firmware-controlled charge limit that caps at 80% to reduce cell wear — this is a BIOS setting, not a fault with the battery. Go into the BIOS power management or battery care menu and check whether a charge threshold or battery protection mode is enabled. Disabling that setting allows the cell to charge to 100%. If no such option appears, confirm the BIOS firmware is on the latest version, as earlier builds on the 822 platform had this limit set by default with no visible toggle.
