Fits Trigem Gemlite 1075 and 210DB notebooks; replaces OEM part DR36 and DR36S.
12V, 3800mAh Ni-MH chemistry delivers 45.6Wh capacity for portable work sessions on this 1990s compact notebook.
Connector type and orientation match the original slot; 139.50 x 89.00 x 20.00mm form factor seats flush without modification.
We bench-tested the cell on a Gemlite 1075 motherboard; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion without fault codes.
After installation, run one full discharge to hibernation cutoff then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears inaccurate health warnings.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Trigem Gemlite 1075 / 210DB — 12V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (DR36)

This is a 12V, 3800mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Trigem Gemlite 1075 and 210DB notebook computers. It replaces OEM part numbers DR36 and DR36S. The battery slots into the original bay and restores portable operation when the factory cell has degraded past usable capacity.

  • Gemlite 1075 and 210DB compatibility: Both models draw from the same 12V battery rail and use identical connector pinouts and physical housings. The DR36 and DR36S part numbers are interchangeable across these two platforms — the only difference is a minor revision marker on the OEM label.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the Gemlite platform. The BMS accepted the cell without error, reached full charge cutoff cleanly, and held voltage under sustained CPU and display load without dropping to the protection threshold.
  • First-cycle conditioning on Ni-MH: Unlike Li-ion, Ni-MH cells benefit from a deliberate first cycle. Run the battery down to hibernate-cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This allows the BIOS battery learn cycle to complete against the new cell and clears the inaccurate health warning that typically appears after a cell swap.

Gemlite shutting down at 20–30% charge shown on screen

This is a voltage cliff, not a fuel gauge error. Under combined CPU and display load, the Ni-MH cell's terminal voltage drops sharply before the reported charge level reaches zero. The laptop's low-voltage cutoff triggers before the fuel gauge catches up. Run two full discharge-to-hibernate and uninterrupted-charge cycles — the BIOS learn cycle will re-map the cutoff threshold to the new cell's actual discharge curve.

BIOS showing "unknown battery" or 0% immediately after swap

The BIOS reads battery identity and state data from EEPROM on the cell pack. When the old cell's EEPROM data no longer matches what the new cell reports, the system flags it as unknown or shows 0%. This is not a fault with the replacement cell. Boot into the BIOS battery utility if available, or complete one full learn cycle — discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge to 100% uninterrupted — to allow the BIOS to write fresh calibration data at 12V reference.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Gemlite 1075 fuel gauge is jumping around — showing 60%, then 90%, then 45% within minutes. What's wrong?

The fuel gauge IC lost its calibration reference when the old cell was removed. It is now estimating state-of-charge against stale data that no longer matches the new Ni-MH cell's chemistry. Run two complete cycles — discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% each time. After the second cycle the IC recalibrates against the new cell and the gauge stabilises.

System info on the Gemlite is showing the wrong Wh rating — it says something much lower than 45.6Wh. Is this cell defective?

The Wh figure in system info is pulled from EEPROM data embedded in the original cell pack, not measured in real time. When a replacement cell is installed, the EEPROM-reported value may differ from the actual rated capacity of the new cell. The 45.6Wh rating on this battery is the true specification. Complete one full learn cycle and the BIOS will overwrite the stale EEPROM reference with updated charge data.

New DR36 installed but the Gemlite stops charging at around 80% and just sits there — charger light stays on but the percentage won't move.

On Ni-MH cells, the charge controller uses a delta-voltage detection method to determine full charge. If the cell temperature is elevated or the room is warm, the controller can interpret a normal voltage plateau as full charge and stop early. Move the laptop to a cooler surface — ideally below 25°C — and restart the charge cycle from below 50%. The controller should then complete the charge curve and reach 100%.
