Fits Toshiba Portege 2010, 2000, R100, and R200 — replaces PA3154U-1BAS, PA3154U-1BRS, PA3154U-2BAS, PA3154U-2BRS.
10.8V at 1600mAh delivers 17.28Wh capacity to sustain CPU and display load on early Portege ultrabooks without mid-session shutdown.
Connector slides into the right-side bay with the locking tab facing forward — physical fit matches original with no modification.
We bench-tested against a 2010 Portege unit; the BMS powered through a full charge cycle with no cutoff faults or thermal throttle.
After installation, run one complete discharge to hibernate cutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% — this resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Toshiba Portege 2010 / R100 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery (PA3154U-1BAS)

This 10.8V, 1600mAh Li-ion battery fits the Toshiba Portege 2000, 2010, R100, and R200 ultraportable notebooks. It replaces OEM part numbers PA3154U-1BAS, PA3154U-1BRS, PA3154U-2BAS, and PA3154U-2BRS. Capacity is 17.28Wh — matched to the original spec for these thin-chassis machines.

  • Portege 2000 / 2010 / R100 / R200 fitment: These four models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One cell fits all four without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a Portege R100. The BMS accepted the new cell without tripping a fault, and the charge controller reached full voltage without cutoff errors.
  • Post-install calibration on the Portege platform: After fitting this battery, run the laptop down to hibernate-cutoff under normal use, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This resets the BIOS battery learn cycle and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap on these Toshiba models.

BIOS reporting poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell

The Portege BIOS reads health data from the battery's EEPROM — a small data store that holds cycle count, capacity history, and rated Wh figures. When a new cell arrives, that EEPROM carries factory-default values the BIOS hasn't seen before. The system flags it as unknown or degraded before any calibration has occurred. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge gives the BIOS enough data to rewrite its internal battery model and clear the warning.

Laptop shuts down abruptly when the gauge still shows 20–30% remaining

This happens when the fuel gauge IC hasn't calibrated against the new cell's actual voltage curve. The IC is still using the old cell's discharge profile, so it misreads remaining capacity and doesn't anticipate the voltage cliff. Under full CPU and display load, voltage drops faster than the gauge predicts and the system shuts off to protect the motherboard. Run two complete discharge-to-hibernate and full-recharge cycles — after that, the fuel gauge IC recalibrates and the shutdowns stop.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the Portege 2010 show "0% available (plugged in, charging)" after I fit the new battery?

The BIOS is reading stale EEPROM data from the new cell and hasn't completed a learn cycle yet. This is normal on the Portege platform after any cell swap — it isn't a fault with the battery or the charging circuit. Drain the laptop fully to hibernate, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without removing the adapter. After one complete cycle the BIOS rewrites its battery model and the percentage reads correctly.

The system info screen shows the wrong Wh rating — it says something different from 17.28Wh. Is the battery faulty?

No — the Wh figure shown in Windows or Toshiba Power Saver is pulled from the EEPROM's rated chemistry data, which may differ from the measured actual capacity on a new cell. The EEPROM value updates as the fuel gauge IC logs real discharge data across calibration cycles. After two full discharge-and-recharge cycles the reported Wh figure aligns with the actual cell capacity of 17.28Wh.

The Portege R100 charges fine but the battery gauge jumps wildly — 60% one minute, 80% the next. What's wrong?

The fuel gauge IC is running on the old cell's discharge curve and hasn't mapped the new cell's voltage response yet. Voltage-to-capacity translation is cell-specific, so mismatched data causes erratic readings across the charge range. This isn't a wiring or connector issue. Run the battery down to hibernate-cutoff twice with normal use loads, charging fully between each cycle — the IC relearns the curve and the gauge stabilises.
