Fits Traveler Slimline Super Slim X8 and compatible models using 3.7V Li-ion chemistry cells.
3.7V, 660mAh capacity delivers 2.44Wh — standard output for this compact camera platform.
Connector type and physical orientation match OEM slot; verify locking tab engages fully.
We bench tested the CS-LI40B on charge cycles; BMS accepted the cell without authentication delay.
On first use, run one full charge cycle via camera body before extended shooting sessions — Traveler camera firmware requires internal BMS handshake to display accurate battery percentage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Traveler Slimline Super Slim X8 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 660mAh Li-ion battery replaces the original cell in the Traveler Slimline Super Slim X8, XS8, XS10, XS70, and over 46 additional compact camera models sharing the same form factor. It measures 40.00 × 31.10 × 5.90mm — the same footprint as the factory cell. Voltage and capacity match the original spec from the product data exactly.

  • Slimline Super Slim series compatibility: The X8, XS8, XS10, and XS70 all run the same 3.7V supply rail and share an identical battery bay, connector orientation, and contact layout. One cell fits the entire range without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through a full charge-discharge cycle on a compatible body. The BMS accepted the cell, reported state-of-charge correctly, and held voltage above the low-battery cutoff threshold through the full discharge sweep.
  • First-use charge cycle in the camera body: Insert the new cell and charge it via the camera body or OEM charger before shooting. Some compact camera BMS controllers need one in-body charge cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve and display battery-remaining accurately.

Dead battery indicator on a replacement cell that's actually charged

The Slimline's battery indicator reads voltage against a stored discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. A new third-party cell with a slightly different open-circuit voltage at rest can register as empty on first insertion. This is a BMS mapping issue, not a faulty cell. Place the battery in the charger until the charge light confirms full, then reinsert — the indicator should update within a few seconds of powering on.

Flash not fully recycling between shots on a fresh battery

Flash capacitor recharge draws a burst of current each cycle. At the end of a cell's usable charge, internal resistance rises and the capacitor takes longer to reach full voltage — resulting in reduced flash output or misfires on rapid shots. If this appears early in a session, check that the cell was fully charged before use. A consistent problem across full charges points to the cell voltage dropping below 3.5V under load, which signals end-of-life for that cell.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Traveler Slimline X8 shows "no battery" when I insert the new cell — what's happening?

The camera's BMS runs a brief authentication check on insertion and can reject a new cell if it hasn't completed a charge handshake yet. Insert the battery and connect to the OEM charger for a full charge cycle before attempting to power the camera on. This allows the BMS to recognise the cell's voltage profile. After one full charge, the "no battery" warning clears on reinsertion.

The battery percentage on my Slimline jumps around — it shows 80%, then drops to 20% in a few shots.

The camera maps remaining charge by comparing real-time voltage to a threshold table calibrated for the original cell's discharge curve. A replacement cell with a slightly different curve will cause the indicator to jump when voltage crosses a stored threshold unexpectedly. This does not mean the cell is faulty — actual capacity is unaffected. Running one full charge-to-discharge cycle in the camera body allows the BMS to re-anchor its readings to the new cell.

Shot count seems lower than expected — is the cell drawing too much?

The rated capacity reflects a controlled constant-current discharge. In real shooting, continuous autofocus, optical image stabilisation, the rear LCD, and any video recording all pull simultaneously, pushing total draw well above the baseline figure. Cold ambient temperatures above freezing but below 10°C also reduce available capacity temporarily. Check that the cell reaches a full charge before each session — a partial charge is the most common reason shot count falls short of expectations.
