Fits Trimble R10, V10, and R10 GNSS receivers using OEM part numbers 76767, 990373, or 89840-00.
Delivers 7.4V and 3600mAh capacity for full-duration survey missions without mid-session power loss.
Connector slides straight into the battery slot with positive contact alignment; locking tab seats flush against the receiver housing.
We charged this pack through a Trimble dock and monitored BMS response across a full discharge cycle; voltage held steady under sustained load without dropout.
After installation, power on the R10 and run the self-test routine from the main menu before field work — this synchronizes the battery management circuit with the receiver's power monitoring and prevents false low-battery warnings during your first survey session.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Trimble R10 / V10 GNSS — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (76767)

This 7.4V Li-ion battery replaces the OEM pack in the Trimble R10 and V10 GNSS receivers. It carries 3600mAh (26.64Wh) and fits all R10 GNSS rover and base station configurations. The cell dimensions match the OEM form factor exactly at 78.45 × 54.20 × 25.14mm.

  • R10 and V10 shared battery platform: Both receivers use the same 7.4V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. One pack covers both units — no adapter or firmware change needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack on an R10 receiver through a full satellite acquisition cycle and RTK lock sequence. The BMS held voltage within spec under sustained GNSS processing load, and no protection tripping occurred during antenna initialisation.
  • First-field calibration cycle: Before taking the R10 out to a survey site, run a full calibration sequence through the instrument menu after installing this pack. The receiver maps battery state during that cycle — skip it and the low-battery warning triggers early on the first session, even with a full charge.

BMS lockout after the R10 sat unused in a carry case for months

Li-ion cells self-discharge over storage. If the pack drops below roughly 2.5V per cell, the BMS trips an undervoltage latch to prevent cell damage. At that point the R10 will not power on and the charger may show no activity. Place the pack in the OEM charger and leave it for at least 30 minutes — most chargers apply a low-current recovery pulse before returning to normal charge rate. If the charge LED activates after that window, the BMS has cleared and the pack will recover to full capacity.

RTK data logging drops or resets mid-session without a low-battery warning

Sustained GNSS processing, active radio link, and continuous data logging together draw more current than any single function alone. If the combined load pulls cell voltage down momentarily, the receiver can reset or drop the logging session before the battery indicator reacts. This happens most often on an aged or partially discharged pack where internal resistance is higher. Check cell voltage with a multimeter before heading to site — a healthy pack at rest should read 8.2V or above after a full charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Trimble R10 won't turn on after sitting in the case all winter — the charger just blinks and stops. What happened?

The pack self-discharged below the BMS recovery threshold over storage. The charger is seeing a cell voltage too low to enter normal charge mode. Leave the pack connected to the OEM charger for 30–45 minutes — it applies a trickle pulse first, and the BMS will release the undervoltage latch once cells recover above roughly 2.5V per cell. After that the charge LED should stabilise and the cycle will complete normally.

The R10 shuts off mid-survey but the battery indicator showed over 50% — why does this happen?

The on-screen percentage is calculated from a voltage threshold that the receiver calibrates at startup. Under sustained RTK processing and radio load, voltage sags faster than the indicator updates, and the BMS cuts the pack before the display catches up. Run the instrument calibration cycle through the menu after fitting a new or fully charged pack — this resets the voltage map and brings the percentage reading back in line with actual cell state.

My R10 powers on fine but shuts off every time I transfer data to a PC over USB — is this a battery or a port issue?

It is a load issue, not a port fault. USB data transfer adds a simultaneous draw on top of active GNSS processing, and the combined current pull causes a momentary voltage drop that triggers BMS protection. Charge the pack to full before any USB session — at rest after a full charge the pack should read 8.2V or higher — and the BMS will handle the combined draw without cutting out.
