Fits Uniden EXP1240 and EXP1240H cordless phone handsets; replaces OEM part number 1000060.
3.7V lithium-ion cell rated 1200mAh delivers consistent handset power without the memory effect of older NiMH packs.
Connector slides vertically into the battery slot on the handset back panel with a single locking tab securing it flush.
We ran a full charge cycle on a base unit showing normal acceptance voltage; the BMS showed clean cutoff at rated capacity with no early termination.
After installing this cell, seat the handset in the base for a full 16-hour charge before first use — Li-ion cordless packs reach rated capacity on the initial slow charge cycle.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Uniden EXP1240 / EXP1240H — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (1000060)

This is a 3.7V, 1200mAh (4.44Wh) lithium-ion battery for the Uniden EXP1240 and EXP1240H cordless phone handsets. It replaces OEM part number 1000060. When the original battery no longer holds a charge through a normal call, this is the direct swap.

  • EXP1240 and EXP1240H compatibility: Both handsets share the same battery bay dimensions (53.20 × 34.00 × 5.70mm), connector pinout, and 3.7V charge acceptance. One battery covers both variants without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this battery through charge and discharge on EXP1240 hardware. The BMS handled the base station's charge termination signal correctly and did not trip a false full-charge cutoff at low state-of-charge.
  • First charge after installation: Seat the handset in the base immediately after installing this battery and leave it for a full 16 hours before first use. Li-ion cells shipped in partial-charge storage state need one complete charge cycle to let the BMS calibrate its capacity register accurately.

Talk time shorter than expected after fitting the new battery

A Li-ion cell arriving from storage is not at full capacity — the BMS has not yet mapped the cell's actual charge curve. The handset's fuel gauge reads the stored register, not the real cell state, so it reports a low percentage even after the first charge. Run two to three full charge and discharge cycles through normal use. By the third cycle the BMS register aligns with actual cell capacity and talk time stabilises.

Handset loses base station pairing after battery replacement

Removing the battery from a DECT handset cuts all power to the registration memory on some Uniden models. The base station and handset lose their shared link key. To re-pair, press and hold the page or find button on the base for five seconds, then follow the handset's on-screen pairing prompt. Once registration completes, confirm the handset shows the base station name or line status at idle.

Frequently Asked Questions

The base station shows a flashing or error light after I put the new battery in — why won't it charge?

A Li-ion cell shipped in deep storage can sit below the base station's charge acceptance threshold. The base detects a voltage too low to begin its normal charge cycle and flags an error. Place the handset on the base, leave it undisturbed for 30 minutes, and check again — the charger circuit will trickle current into the cell until it crosses the acceptance threshold, after which normal charging begins. If the error light persists past 30 minutes, confirm the battery contacts on the handset are clean and making firm contact with the base pins.

My EXP1240 handset is dead by morning even though I put it back in the base every night — is the battery faulty?

This is almost always a seating issue, not a battery fault. If the handset is even slightly off-centre in the cradle, the charging contacts don't close properly and the handset runs entirely on battery overnight. Remove the handset, wipe the gold contacts on both the handset and base with a dry cloth, then reseat it firmly until you feel or hear it click into position. Confirm the charging indicator light on the handset or base illuminates within 10 seconds of seating.

After the swap, calls drop or sound crackly at distances that worked fine before — what's happening?

RF transmit power in DECT handsets draws a short current spike each time the handset bursts a signal to the base. If the battery voltage sags during that spike — common in the first few cycles before the BMS has calibrated the cell — the handset's transmit circuit under-powers the signal, causing crackle or dropout at range. This resolves after two or three full charge cycles once the cell stabilises above 3.6V under load. If range issues persist beyond the third cycle, check that the battery contacts are seated flat with no debris lifting the cell off the terminal.
