Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

USCellular SCH-R530 / Galaxy S III — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Samsung SCH-R530, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy S III LTE. It fits the standard battery bay and connects via the OEM contact strip. Capacity is 1400mAh — use that figure for any runtime or charge-cycle planning.
- SCH-R530 and Galaxy S III platform fit: These models share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and contact layout. The BMS on each variant expects a 3.7V nominal cell with a 4.2V charge ceiling — this replacement cell meets both.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on an S III unit. The BMS accepted charge without fault codes, reached 4.2V at termination, and held voltage under screen-on and modem load without dropping below the cutoff threshold.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, run one full discharge to roughly 5–10% before charging back to 100%. The Galaxy S III uses a coulomb counter that was calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve — one complete cycle lets it map the new cell accurately before the readings stabilise.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the SCH-R530 after a cell swap
This is a voltage cliff problem, not a capacity problem. Under screen-on load combined with active modem traffic, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge expects at that state of charge. When voltage hits the BMS cutoff threshold — typically 3.0V per cell — the phone shuts down even though the gauge still showed charge remaining. The fix is one full discharge-charge cycle so the coulomb counter resets its internal model to the new cell's actual discharge curve. After that cycle, the percentage readout tracks real voltage much more closely.
Phone warm near the battery slot on the first few charges
A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell. During the first two or three charge cycles, the charge IC pushes current into that higher-impedance cell, and some energy dissipates as heat in the battery bay area. This is normal and typically resolves by the third full charge cycle as impedance drops. If warmth persists beyond five cycles or the phone becomes hot to the touch, check that the battery contacts are seated flat — a misaligned contact increases resistance and amplifies heating. Normal operating temperature at the back cover should be below 40°C.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SCH-R530 shows 25% battery then cuts off with no warning — is the new cell faulty?
Almost certainly not faulty — this is a fuel gauge mismatch after a cell swap. The Galaxy S III's coulomb counter was calibrated to your old cell's discharge curve, so it misreads the voltage cliff on the new cell. Run one full discharge to around 5–10% and then charge uninterrupted to 100%. After that cycle, the counter resets to the new cell's actual curve and sudden shutdowns at 20–30% stop.
The battery percentage is jumping around — it reads 60%, then drops to 40%, then climbs back up — what's causing that?
The fuel gauge IC on the SCH-R530 is recalibrating against the new cell. It lost its reference point when the old cell was removed and is now estimating state of charge from incomplete data. One complete discharge-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to collect a full dataset on the new cell. After that cycle completes, erratic percentage jumps settle down and the readout tracks steadily.
The replacement battery won't charge past about 80% — the Galaxy S III just stops and says it's full. What's wrong?
The charge IC may have entered a conservative mode because the new cell's impedance reads slightly high on the first cycle. Discharge the phone to below 10%, then plug into the OEM charger — not a fast charger — and let it run a full uninterrupted charge to termination. On a healthy new Li-ion cell, termination voltage is 4.2V; if the phone still cuts off early after two full cycles, confirm the charger output is 5V/1A, as a low-current or damaged cable limits charge IC behaviour before the cell reaches full capacity.
