Fits Galaxy S3, Galaxy SIII, and SPH-L710 smartphones; replaces EB-L1G6LLA and EB-L1G6LLAGSTA OEM cells.
3.7V, 1400mAh lithium-ion delivers the rated capacity for standard daily use on this mid-range Android device.
Connector slides into the battery bay with no locking tab; orientation is marked on the phone's contact plate.
Bench testing showed normal BMS handshake on insertion; fuel gauge IC required a full discharge-charge cycle to recalibrate against the new cell curve.
On first charge after installation, disable any fast charging settings and run one complete cycle at standard current—this prevents the fuel gauge from reporting wrong percentages as the coulomb counter adapts to the new cell discharge profile.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Sprint Galaxy S3 / SPH-L710 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (EB-L1G6LLA)

This is a 3.7V, 1400mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the Samsung Galaxy S3, including the Sprint SPH-L710 variant. It replaces OEM part numbers EB-L1G6LLA and EB-L1G6LLAGSTA. The battery slots into the same rear-cover bay and connects via the original multi-pin contact strip.

  • SPH-L710 and Galaxy S3 compatibility: The Sprint SPH-L710, standard Galaxy S3, and Galaxy SIII share the same battery bay dimensions and three-pin contact layout. The BMS handshake protocol is identical across these variants, so the fuel gauge IC reads cell state correctly without firmware changes.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell on an SPH-L710 and monitored the BMS charge termination. The protection circuit cut off cleanly at full charge and held stable contact voltage across three full discharge cycles without tripping the low-voltage lockout.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: After fitting this battery, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle before normal use. The fuel gauge IC on the Galaxy S3 calibrates its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve on that first cycle — skipping it causes the percentage to read inaccurately for the first several days.

Why the SPH-L710 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The Galaxy S3 uses a fuel gauge IC that tracks charge state by counting coulombs against a stored discharge curve from the previous cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual chemistry. The IC reports percentage based on stale data until it completes a full discharge-charge cycle and recalculates. Until recalibration is complete, the percentage display can read 10–20% higher or lower than the real state of charge. One full cycle from 100% down to automatic shutdown and back to 100% resets the curve.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This happens when the cell voltage drops sharply under combined modem and display load — a voltage cliff the fuel gauge did not predict. The SPH-L710's LTE radio draws a short high-current burst during handoff, and if the cell cannot sustain voltage above the BMS cutoff threshold during that burst, the phone shuts off even though the reported percentage looks safe. The fix is to run two or three full cycles so the fuel gauge IC maps the new cell's actual voltage sag at load. After calibration, the low-battery warning fires at the correct percentage before the cliff is reached.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Galaxy S3 shuts off at around 25% after fitting this battery — is something wrong with the cell?

Nothing is wrong with the cell. The fuel gauge IC is still using the old discharge curve from your worn-out battery, so it misjudges how much voltage remains under LTE radio load. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging. After calibration, the shutdown threshold shifts to match the new cell's actual voltage floor.

The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?

The BMS locks out the cell when voltage drops below roughly 2.5V from self-discharge during storage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, after which the phone will boot normally.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after swapping the battery — was it working before?

Fast charging protocols on the Galaxy S3 require the BMS to confirm cell state before accepting high-current input. On the first cycle after a cell swap, the BMS defaults to standard charge rate until it completes one full charge and verifies the new cell's impedance profile. Charge fully once at standard rate, then fast charging will re-engage on the next plug-in.
