This 3.85V 8000mAh (30.8Wh) lithium-polymer battery replaces part number MLP2678135-2P in the Verizon Ellipsis 10 HD tablet. It fits the QTAXIA1 board revision and the 32GB HD 4G variant sold through Verizon. Same voltage, same connector, same physical footprint at 145.20 × 141.20 × 2.80mm.

The Ellipsis 10 HD runs a 10-inch display alongside persistent Wi-Fi — both draw simultaneously during streaming. The combined current draw causes voltage to sag faster than the fuel gauge predicts, and the protection circuit cuts power before the reported percentage reaches zero. This is a fuel gauge calibration gap, not a defective cell. Run one full discharge-to-shutoff cycle followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% and the shutoff threshold will stabilise at or below 5%.

Fast charging unavailable on the Ellipsis 10 HD after battery replacement

The Ellipsis 10 HD's charge IC negotiates charging rate during the first accepted charge cycle after a new cell is installed. Until that cycle completes, the device defaults to standard 5V charging as a safety fallback. This is normal behaviour — not a fault with the battery or the charger. Connect the original Verizon wall adapter, allow the first charge to reach 100% uninterrupted, and fast charging will be available from the next session onward.

The battery percentage on my Ellipsis 10 HD is jumping around and dropping faster than it should after I replaced it — what's happening?

The fuel gauge IC stores calibration data from the previous cell and applies it immediately to the new one, which causes erratic percentage readings and faster-than-expected drain from a full charge. The fix is the same recalibration step: discharge the tablet fully to automatic shutoff, then charge uninterrupted to 100% without unplugging partway through. My Ellipsis 10 HD gets noticeably warm while charging the new battery — is the charge IC overheating?

Warmth during charging is expected when a new lithium-polymer cell first cycles through the charge IC. The IC runs a slightly higher current on the initial charge as it establishes communication with the new cell's BMS. If the tablet stays warm but not hot and cools down within a few minutes of reaching 100%, nothing is wrong. If it stays hot to the touch during a normal charge after the first cycle, check that the charging port and cable are clean and that the charger output matches 5V/2A.
