Fits Verizon GzOne C731 ROCK with OEM part numbers BTR731B and BTR741B replacements.
Delivers 3.7V and 1200mAh capacity to restore full talk and standby time on this rugged phone.
Connector slides into the battery slot with a single locking tab; orientation is keyed to prevent reverse insertion.
We bench-tested the cell on a GzOne platform simulator; the BMS accepted the pack on first insertion with no fault codes.
On first charge after installation, complete one full discharge-to-shutdown cycle before relying on the fuel gauge IC — the phone's coulomb counter needs to recalibrate against this cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Verizon GzOne C731 ROCK — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BTR731B / BTR741B)

This 3.7V, 1200mAh Li-ion cell replaces the OEM battery in the Verizon GzOne C731 ROCK rugged mobile phone. It fits directly into the C731 battery bay and restores normal power cycling. Dimensions are 48.45 × 39.38 × 7.96mm — measure your bay before ordering if you're unsure.

  • GzOne C731 and C741 compatibility: The BTR731B and BTR741B share the same cell footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol across the C731 ROCK platform. Both part numbers fit without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on the C731 platform. The BMS accepted the cell without triggering a fault code, and the charge IC communicated correctly with the phone's power management unit throughout.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first install: On first use, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell — preventing erratic percentage readings from the start.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the GzOne C731 ROCK

This happens when the cell voltage drops below the phone's minimum threshold under load — typically during a call, GPS fix, or screen-on activity — even though the fuel gauge still shows remaining charge. A degraded or uncalibrated cell hits a voltage cliff where it cannot sustain the modem's current draw. The BMS trips the cutoff before the gauge catches up. Fix this by running two full discharge-charge cycles at standard rate to let the coulomb counter recalibrate against the new cell's actual voltage curve.

Phone warm near the battery compartment during first charge

A new Li-ion cell has slightly higher internal impedance than a broken-in cell, so the charge IC dissipates more heat during the CC phase on the first few cycles. This is normal and reduces after two to three full cycles as the cell's internal resistance settles. If the phone feels hot rather than warm, or if charging stops before 100%, check that the back cover is seated flush — the GzOne C731's rubber gasket can trap heat if misaligned. Verify charge completion at 4.2V across the battery terminals.

Frequently Asked Questions

My GzOne C731 ROCK shows 25% battery and then just shuts off without warning — is the new cell faulty?

This is a voltage cliff, not a faulty cell. Under modem or screen load, the cell voltage drops sharply before the fuel gauge IC has time to register it, and the BMS trips the cutoff to protect the cell. Run two full discharge-charge cycles at standard rate — no fast charging — so the coulomb counter can map the new cell's actual discharge curve. After calibration, the shutdowns stop.

The battery percentage on my C731 ROCK jumps around after I installed the replacement — it went from 60% to 82% without charging anything.

The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. When it reads voltage from a new cell with different impedance characteristics, the percentage calculation is off. One complete discharge to cutoff followed by a full standard-rate charge resets the coulomb counter against the new cell. After that single cycle, percentage readings stabilise.

My GzOne C731 ROCK won't power on at all after sitting in a drawer for months with the new battery installed — did storage kill it?

A cell left discharged in storage can drop below 2.5V, which triggers a BMS lockout to prevent damage. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a PC USB port — and leave it for at least 30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold, typically around 3.0V, at which point the phone will power on normally.
