This is a 3.7V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery for the Verizon XV-6800 smartphone. It replaces OEM part numbers 35H00077-00M, 35H00077-02M, and TRIN160. The XV-6800 is a Windows Mobile PDA phone — this battery powers the processor, display, cellular radio, and Wi-Fi simultaneously.

Why the XV-6800 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap

The XV-6800 uses a coulomb-counter-based fuel gauge IC that stores a discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual cell chemistry, so the reported percentage drifts from reality. You may see the phone report 40% and drop to shutdown within minutes, or hold at 20% far longer than expected. One full uninterrupted discharge-to-shutdown followed by a full charge resets the reference curve. After that cycle, percentage accuracy stabilises.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% remaining on the XV-6800

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. The XV-6800 draws a combined load from the CDMA radio, display backlight, and processor — under that combined pull, a cell with any internal resistance variation drops voltage faster than the fuel gauge predicts. The BMS trips a low-voltage cutoff before the reported percentage reaches zero. If this happens, charge the battery to 100%, then perform the single full-discharge recalibration cycle. If shutdowns continue past that, check that the battery contacts on the phone chassis are clean and making full contact — even slight resistance at the connector accelerates the voltage drop under load.

The XV-6800 won't power on after sitting unused for several months — is the new battery dead?

When a Li-ion cell discharges below roughly 2.5V during storage, the BMS locks out to prevent damage and the phone will not respond to a normal power-on attempt. Connect the phone to a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing anything. The charge IC needs to trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold before normal charging begins. If the charging indicator appears after that period, the battery is recovering normally.

The XV-6800 feels warm near the battery compartment during the first few charges — is that normal?

A new high-impedance cell converts slightly more energy to heat during the initial charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. On the XV-6800, the charge IC runs at a fixed current rate and does not back off automatically when internal resistance is higher than the aged cell it expects. This warmth is normal for the first two to three full charge cycles and decreases as the cell impedance settles. If the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold after those first cycles, inspect the battery contacts for debris or corrosion at the chassis connector.

Battery percentage jumps erratically — drops 15% instantly, then climbs back — what is happening?

The coulomb counter in the XV-6800's fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. Until it completes at least one full discharge-to-shutdown and uninterrupted full recharge on the new cell, it interpolates percentage from a mismatched curve and produces unstable readings. Run the phone down to automatic shutdown from a full charge, then charge to 100% in one session without unplugging early. Percentage stability should normalise after that single calibration cycle.
