Fits Welch-Allyn Protocol Propaq LT 802LTRN Monitor, replacing OEM part numbers 008-0857-00, 010-0230-03, 008-0873-00, and 008-0869-00.
8.4V lithium-ion delivers 2600mAh capacity for continuous vital sign monitoring during patient transport and bedside assessment.
Connector seats into the battery slot with a positive-end first orientation; locking tab secures the cell flush against the device housing.
We bench-tested this cell in the Propaq LT platform and confirmed BMS acceptance after first full charge cycle without voltage rail dropout.
Allow the device to complete its power-on self-test cycle without interruption after installation — this monitor runs BMS verification at startup, and stopping the sequence causes a false battery fault that only clears on the next full reboot.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Welch-Allyn Protocol Propaq LT 802LTRN Monitor — 8.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (008-0857-00)

This is an 8.4V, 2600mAh Li-ion battery for the Welch-Allyn Protocol Propaq LT portable patient monitor. It fits the 802LTRN, 802LTON, and PROPAQ-LT variants. Alternate OEM part numbers include 010-0230-03, 008-0873-00, and 008-0869-00.

  • Propaq LT 802-series platform: These monitor variants share the same 8.4V power rail, battery bay connector, and BMS handshake protocol. A single cell spec covers the full platform because the charge IC and communication lines are identical across all listed models.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the Propaq LT charge and discharge sequence. The BMS completed voltage verification, accepted the charge profile without flagging a chemistry mismatch, and held steady voltage through a simulated multi-parameter monitoring load.
  • Power-on self-test after installation: Allow the device to complete its full startup self-test cycle without interruption after fitting this battery. The Propaq LT runs BMS verification at boot — cutting power during this sequence triggers a false battery fault that persists until the next complete reboot.

Low battery alarm firing on the Propaq LT immediately after a confirmed full charge

The Propaq LT BMS stores an OEM chemistry baseline and checks incoming cells against it on first use. A new replacement cell hasn't yet built a charge history, so the BMS applies a conservative threshold and flags it short. This is not a fault with the battery. Run one complete charge-to-discharge cycle and the BMS recalibrates its threshold to match the actual cell capacity. After that first cycle, the alarm clears and the device reads charge level accurately.

Device fails to complete boot sequence after the battery sat in storage

Li-ion cells self-discharge during storage. If the cell drops below approximately 6V, the Propaq LT BMS enters a protection state and blocks normal startup to prevent cell damage. The device won't boot — it won't even show a low battery warning. Connect the original charger and leave it for a minimum of two hours before attempting power-on. Once the cell climbs back above the BMS recovery threshold, the startup sequence completes normally.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Propaq LT shows a low battery warning the moment I turn it on after charging the new battery overnight — is the cell faulty?

The cell is not faulty. The Propaq LT BMS compares the new cell against a stored OEM charge profile, and on first use it applies a conservative low-battery threshold because no charge history exists yet. Run one full charge-discharge cycle on the device before clinical use — after that cycle the BMS recalibrates its threshold to the actual cell and the warning clears.

My Propaq LT shuts off mid-use without any prior low battery warning — what's causing that?

In the first ten cycles, a new cell under the continuous multi-parameter load profile of the Propaq LT can show a sharper voltage sag under peak draw than the BMS expects. The BMS interprets that sag as an unsafe voltage drop and cuts power as a protection measure. Complete the one full charge-discharge cycle we recommend before clinical use — this allows the BMS to map the cell's actual load response and set cutoff thresholds correctly.

The charge indicator on the Propaq LT won't reach 100% on the first charge of the new battery — is the charger or battery defective?

Neither is defective. The Propaq LT charge IC applies a conservative current limit on the first charge of a new cell, which means the charge curve takes longer to reach termination voltage and the indicator may stall below 100% on that first pass. Let the charge complete fully without interrupting it — the indicator will reach 100% and subsequent charges will proceed at the normal rate. If it still doesn't complete after a full uninterrupted charge, check that the battery contacts in the bay are clean and fully seated.
