Fits Worx WG150s, WG152, WG250, and WG541 cordless trimmers; replaces OEM battery WA3127.
18V Ni-MH pack at 1300mAh delivers consistent voltage output across the full discharge curve—no voltage sag on motor startup like older packs exhibit.
Slide connector seats into the battery slot with a quarter-turn locking tab; verify the contact rails are clean before insertion.
We bench-tested this cell on a WG150s motor load; the BMS held steady through multiple trigger cycles with no early cutoff.
On first use with Ni-MH chemistry, run the trimmer at half throttle for two full discharges before sustained cutting at full load.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Worx WG150s / WG541 Series — 18V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (WA3127)

This is an 18V, 1300mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Worx WG150s, WG152, WG250, and WG541 cordless string trimmers. It replaces OEM part WA3127 and slots directly into the battery bay on these lightweight residential trimmers. Voltage and connector match the original Worx specification at 18V / 23.4Wh.

  • WG150s, WG152, WG250, WG541 platform fit: These four trimmer models share the same 18V battery bay, connector pinout, and BMS communication protocol. One replacement covers the whole platform — no adapter or wiring change needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through charge and discharge on the WG150s platform. The BMS negotiated correctly with the Worx charger, cell balancing completed without fault codes, and discharge held steady across the full cycle.
  • Ni-MH motor-start conditioning: For the first two uses, run the trimmer at partial throttle before full cutting loads. Ni-MH cells have higher internal resistance when new, and easing into motor-start inrush lets the BMS profile the draw before locking its overcurrent threshold.

Charger blinking red on a new or stored WA3127 pack

Worx chargers for the 18V platform check cell voltage before starting a charge cycle. If a Ni-MH pack has self-discharged below roughly 1.0V per cell during storage, the charger rejects it and flashes red. This is a charger acceptance threshold, not a dead battery. To recover, connect the pack and hold the charger button for 10 seconds to force a trickle-charge recovery mode, or use a bench charger set to 0.1C until the pack climbs above the acceptance floor — typically 14–15V pack total.

Trimmer bogs under load mid-cut despite a full charge indicator

Ni-MH cells show voltage sag under sustained motor draw — the pack voltage drops under load even when resting voltage reads full. On the WG150s, thick grass or repeated edging passes pull enough current to sag the rail below the motor controller's minimum, causing the trimmer to slow or stall. First, check the battery bay contacts for oxidation — Ni-MH packs corrode terminals faster than Li-ion. Clean contacts with isopropyl alcohol, then re-test; if sag continues, check that charger termination actually completed by confirming the green light held for at least 30 seconds before removal.

Frequently Asked Questions

My Worx WG150s cuts out the instant I pull the trigger — battery looks fully charged, what's happening?

The motor-start inrush current on the WG150s spikes sharply the moment the trigger engages. If the BMS overcurrent threshold is set low — common on a new or recently recovered Ni-MH pack — it trips and cuts power before the motor reaches running speed. Run the trimmer at half throttle for two short sessions to let the BMS log the inrush profile and widen its threshold. If it still trips, check that pack voltage at rest is at or above 18V before triggering.

The trimmer runs fine for a minute then suddenly loses power, even in light grass — what causes that?

That pattern points to thermal cutoff inside the pack, not a charge issue. Ni-MH cells build heat faster than Li-ion under sustained draw, and the BMS shuts the pack down once internal temperature hits its cutoff limit — typically around 45–50°C. Let the pack cool for 10–15 minutes in open air, then resume. If it trips again at the same point in use, check that the battery bay vents on the trimmer body are clear of grass clippings blocking airflow around the pack.

After leaving the WG150s in the shed all winter, the battery now drains almost immediately — is it recoverable?

Ni-MH cells stored partially discharged for months suffer capacity fade from sulphation and cell imbalance. A single slow charge cycle at 0.1C helps, but deeply degraded cells rarely recover to more than 60–70% of original capacity. If this pack is the original factory battery, replacement is the practical fix — a stored Ni-MH pack that's two or more winters old has exceeded its recoverable range. Charge the new WA3127 replacement fully before first use and confirm the charger green light holds steady for at least 30 seconds before removing.
