Fits Lux-Tools A-KS-18Li/25 cordless drill, saw, and impact driver; replaces OEM part A-KS-18Li/25.
Delivers 18V nominal at 5000mAh capacity — 90Wh total energy for sustained motor runtime on drills and circular saws.
Slide connector locks into tool battery slot with positive terminal facing forward; reverse insertion blocked by tab.
We ran the pack through trigger-pull motor start cycles on a Lux drill; BMS held steady at inrush without cutoff trips.
On first use with Lux tools, run at half throttle for two cycles before full-torque applications — lets the BMS profile motor inrush current before locking overcurrent thresholds.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

LUX-TOOLS A-KS-18Li/25 — 18V Li-ion Replacement Battery (A-KS-18Li/25)

This 18V Li-ion battery replaces the original pack on the LUX-TOOLS A-KS-18Li/25 cordless power tool platform. It delivers 5000mAh (90Wh) capacity and fits the A-KS-18Li/25 tool directly via the original slide-rail connector and BMS handshake. If the original pack no longer holds charge or fails mid-job, this unit slots in as a direct swap.

  • A-KS-18Li/25 platform fit: The A-KS-18Li/25 uses an 18V rail with a slide-mount connector and a proprietary BMS communication line. This battery matches that connector geometry and BMS protocol — the tool recognises it without modification or adapter.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through repeated high-inrush trigger pulls simulating drill and saw motor starts. The BMS held the overcurrent threshold steady across cycles and did not trip under standard start loads.
  • Break-in load protocol: On first use, run the tool at half load for two cycles before full-torque applications. This lets the BMS log the motor's inrush current profile and set accurate overcurrent protection thresholds before you push maximum draw.

BMS Cutoff on Motor-Start Inrush Surge

Cordless saws and drills draw a current spike the moment the trigger is pulled — often three to five times the running current. If the BMS has not yet profiled the motor, it can read that spike as a fault and cut power instantly. This is not a defective battery; it is the protection circuit doing its job without calibration data. Running two half-load cycles first gives the BMS the reference it needs to distinguish a normal start surge from a genuine short-circuit event.

Charger Refusing to Recognise the Pack After Storage

Li-ion packs that sit unused can self-discharge below the charger's minimum acceptance voltage — typically around 2.5V per cell. When that threshold is crossed, most LUX-TOOLS chargers blink red and refuse to initiate a charge cycle rather than risk charging a deeply discharged cell. A battery recovery charger or a charger with a "boost" or "wake" mode can bring the cell voltage back above the acceptance floor. Once each cell reads above 2.8V, a standard charger will recognise the pack and begin a normal charge cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my A-KS-18Li/25 cut out the instant I pull the trigger on a saw cut?

That's a BMS overcurrent trip caused by the motor-start inrush spike — not a faulty battery. At the moment of trigger pull, a saw motor can draw three to five times its running current for a fraction of a second, and if the BMS hasn't profiled that motor yet, it reads the spike as a fault and shuts the pack down. Run two light-load cycles first so the BMS can log the inrush signature and set its threshold correctly. After that, full-load trigger pulls should hold without interruption.

The tool bogs down and loses torque under sustained heavy cutting — is the battery the cause?

Voltage sag under sustained load is the most likely cause. When cells are under continuous high-draw stress — long rip cuts or repeated hole saws — internal resistance causes the pack voltage to drop below what the tool's controller expects, and it throttles output to compensate. Check that the slide-rail contacts are clean and making full metal-to-metal contact, since oxidised contacts add resistance and worsen sag. If contacts are clean and the issue persists, let the pack cool for 10 minutes between heavy sessions — thermal rise inside the housing increases cell resistance and compounds the sag.

My A-KS-18Li/25 battery drains noticeably faster than it did six months ago — what's happening?

Repeated shallow cycling — pulling the pack off the charger after short bursts and recharging before it's meaningfully discharged — degrades usable capacity faster than full cycles do. Li-ion cells in power tool packs respond better to fuller discharge curves; consistently cycling between 80–90% and 100% trains the BMS to report a narrower usable window and reduces effective capacity over time. Deliberately running the pack down to around 20% before recharging for the next few cycles allows the BMS to recalibrate its state-of-charge tracking. If capacity doesn't recover after three full cycles, the cells have faded and a replacement pack is the correct fix.
