Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BM3B)
This is a 3000mAh, 3.85V Li-Polymer replacement cell for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 smartphone. It fits the Mix 2, MDE5, Mi Mix 2S, and Mi Mix 2S Standard Edition Global, along with additional variant models. Swap this in when the original BM3B cell no longer holds a full day's charge or refuses to charge past a certain percentage.
- Mix 2 and Mix 2S platform fit: Xiaomi shared the BM3B cell across the Mix 2 and Mix 2S lines because both use the same 3.85V rail, identical connector pinout, and compatible BMS handshake with the PMIC on that platform. One cell covers both boards.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on a Mix 2 board. The BMS accepted the cell without fault flags, and the charge IC stepped through trickle, CC, and CV phases cleanly at rated current.
- First-cycle fast charge disable on Mi Mix 2S: On first use after installation, turn off Mi Turbo Charge for one full discharge-charge cycle. The fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell curve — running fast charge into an uncalibrated cell causes the coulomb counter to log inaccurate state-of-charge data that compounds over subsequent cycles.
Why the Mi Mix 2 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The fuel gauge IC stores a learned discharge curve from the original cell. When a new cell goes in, the IC still references that old curve, so the percentage shown on screen drifts from the real state of charge. The fix is one full uninterrupted discharge down to automatic shutdown, followed by a complete charge to 100% without interruption. After that cycle, the coulomb counter resets its reference points against the new cell and percentage accuracy stabilises.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This happens when the cell voltage drops below the modem or display load threshold before the fuel gauge reaches 0%. The new Li-Polymer cell has a steeper voltage cliff than a degraded original cell, so the PMIC cuts power while the OS still shows charge remaining. Run one full calibration cycle first — discharge to shutdown, charge uninterrupted to 100%. If shutdowns continue, check that the replacement cell rests at or above 3.7V open-circuit before installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Mi Mix 2 won't turn on at all after the new battery sat in a drawer for a few months — is it dead?
The BM3B cell has likely dropped below 2.5V from self-discharge during storage, triggering BMS lockout. Plug the phone into a 5V charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without attempting to power on — the charge IC runs a trickle-charge recovery cycle to bring the cell back above the BMS re-enable threshold. If the charge indicator appears and the phone boots, the cell has recovered. If there is no response after 45 minutes on charge, measure the battery terminals — any reading below 2.0V means the cell will not recover and needs replacement.
Fast charging stopped working on the Mi Mix 2S after fitting the replacement cell — it only charges slowly now.
Mi Turbo Charge uses a handshake between the charger and the PMIC that depends on the BMS reporting a valid cell state. On the first cycle with a new cell, the BMS presents conservative charge parameters until the fuel gauge IC finishes its initial calibration pass, so the PMIC falls back to standard 5V charging. Complete one full slow charge to 100%, then disconnect and discharge to automatic shutdown. On the next charge, reconnect the original Xiaomi Turbo Charge adapter — the handshake should negotiate the higher current and fast charge will resume.
The battery percentage on my Mi Mix 2 jumps around erratically — it reads 45%, then skips to 60%, then drops to 30%.
Erratic percentage jumps are the fuel gauge IC recalibrating its coulomb counter against an unfamiliar discharge curve — this is expected behaviour in the first two to three cycles after a cell swap. The IC is comparing live voltage readings to a model built on the old cell, so state-of-charge estimates are unstable until it gathers enough data. Run two full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycles: drain to automatic shutdown each time, then charge to 100% without unplugging early. By the end of the second cycle, the IC model converges and percentage readings settle.
