Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Xiaomi VIOMI V3 / Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P — 14.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery (STYJ02YM)
This is a 14.4V 2600mAh Li-ion battery pack for the Xiaomi VIOMI V3 cordless stick vacuum and related models including the VIOMI V-RVCLM26B, Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P, and SKV4109GL. It uses an INR18650 MH1-4S1P-SC cell configuration — four 18650 cells in series, one parallel. Fit this when the original pack no longer holds charge or the vacuum loses suction well before the indicator drops.
- VIOMI V3 and Mi Robot Vacuum Mop P platform: These models share the same 14.4V battery rail, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol. The replacement pack carries the same cell arrangement, so the vacuum's charge management circuit recognises it without reconfiguration.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this pack through full charge and discharge cycles on the VIOMI platform. The BMS responded correctly to trickle-charge termination and triggered overcurrent protection as expected under sustained motor load at blocked-filter conditions.
- Dock charging habit on cordless vacuums: Do not leave the VIOMI on the charging dock permanently. Continuous dock charge applies a trickle current to Li-ion cells that accelerates capacity fade faster than cycled charging. Charge to full, then remove the vacuum from the dock.
Suction dropping before the battery indicator reaches low on the VIOMI V3
This happens because the motor draws more current under a partially restricted airpath — a clogged filter or tangled brush roll raises resistance, and the cell voltage sags under that load before the indicator circuit registers a low-battery event. The BMS reads pack voltage, not motor load, so it won't flag a problem until voltage drops below its threshold. Clean the filter and clear the brush roll first — if suction recovers, the issue was airpath restriction, not the battery. If the pack still sags under a clear airpath, cell degradation is the cause and replacement is the fix.
Motor cuts out mid-clean then recovers after a few seconds
This is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a power button fault. When suction is sustained against a blockage or a fully clogged filter, current draw spikes beyond the BMS protection threshold and it disconnects the pack to prevent cell damage. The pack recovers automatically once current demand drops — which is why the vacuum restarts after a short pause. Clear any blockage, clean or replace the filter, and restart. If the cutout repeats on a clear airpath, check pack voltage at the terminals; a degraded cell group will show below 13.5V at rest on a fully charged pack.

Frequently Asked Questions
My VIOMI V3 cuts out for a few seconds mid-clean and then starts working again — what's causing that?
That's the BMS tripping on an overcurrent spike, usually from sustained suction against a blocked filter or tangled brush roll. The pack disconnects to protect the cells, then resets once the current demand drops. Clear the filter and remove any debris from the brush roll before assuming the battery is faulty. If it still trips on a clear airpath, check the pack terminal voltage at rest — a healthy fully charged pack sits at 16.4V; anything below 15V points to a degraded cell group.
The vacuum has noticeably less suction now than it did when the battery was new — could the battery be causing that?
Yes. A degraded Li-ion pack sags under motor load even if it still reads as "charged." When cell capacity drops, voltage falls faster under the current the motor demands, and the motor runs below its rated speed — which means less airflow and weaker suction. This is different from a blockage: airpath restrictions cause abrupt suction loss, while battery-related sag is gradual and worsens over a session. Test by noting whether suction is weak from the first few seconds of use — if it is, and the filter is clean, the pack is the cause.
The replacement battery isn't charging on my VIOMI — the dock light doesn't respond at all. What should I check first?
Some VIOMI chargers perform a handshake with the BMS before initiating charge — if the pack voltage is very low from storage, the charger may not recognise it as a valid pack. Measure the pack voltage at the terminals; if it reads below 10V, the BMS has entered deep-discharge lockout. Apply a compatible 14.4V source at low current (0.1A) directly to the pack terminals for 5–10 minutes to bring cells above the BMS re-enable threshold of approximately 11V, then place it back on the dock.
