Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Yushi YUT-2600 / YUT-2800 Series — 10.8V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This is a 10.8V, 6600mAh (71.28Wh) Li-ion replacement battery for Yushi YUT-2600, YUT-2620, YUT-2800, and YUT-2820 notebooks. It slots into the same bay as the original cell and connects to the same charge circuit. Capacity is drawn from the product specification — not estimated.
- YUT-2600 and YUT-2800 series compatibility: All four models in this lineup share the same 10.8V three-cell series voltage rail, matching connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — which is why a single replacement cell covers the full range without any wiring or firmware difference.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a YUT-2600 platform, confirmed the BMS handshake completed on first connection, and verified charge termination triggered correctly at 12.6V — no overcharge events detected.
- BIOS learn cycle after install: After fitting this cell, run a full discharge to the hibernate cutoff point, then charge uninterrupted to 100%. This forces the BIOS battery learn cycle to reset against the new cell's actual capacity and clears the inaccurate health warning that appears after every cell swap.
Why the YUT-2600 reports poor battery health immediately after fitting a new cell
The BIOS reads EEPROM data stored in the battery's fuel gauge IC — not the actual cell voltage. When a new cell arrives, that EEPROM holds factory default values that don't match any learned discharge curve, so the BIOS flags it as degraded. The fix is not a hardware fault. One full discharge-to-hibernate followed by an uninterrupted charge to 100% writes fresh calibration data to the IC and resolves the health warning. After two to three complete cycles, the reported capacity will stabilise to reflect the actual 6600mAh rating.
Laptop cuts off abruptly while the OS still shows 20–25% charge remaining
This is a voltage cliff failure — under combined CPU and display load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC can track, and the protection circuit trips before the displayed percentage reaches zero. It is most visible on the YUT-2600 when running heavy tasks straight after a battery swap, before the fuel gauge has been calibrated. The gauge IC needs at least two full discharge-to-charge cycles to map the new cell's voltage-to-capacity curve accurately. Run two complete cycles from 100% down to hibernate cutoff, and the early shutdowns will stop.

Frequently Asked Questions
My YUT-2600 BIOS says the new battery is at 0% capacity and unknown health — did I get a faulty cell?
The BIOS is reading stale EEPROM data from the fuel gauge IC, not the actual cell state — this appears on every new cell swap and is not a fault. Run the laptop on battery until it hibernates from low power, then charge it uninterrupted to 100%. That single learn cycle writes real discharge data to the IC and clears the unknown health flag. If the warning persists after three full cycles, check the BIOS battery settings for a manually set charge limit.
The fuel gauge jumps from 60% to 15% with no warning — is the capacity actually 6600mAh?
The cell is 6600mAh, but the fuel gauge IC hasn't mapped its voltage curve yet. On a fresh cell, the IC estimates remaining charge using curves from the old cell, which causes large, sudden jumps in the displayed percentage. Two full discharge-to-hibernate cycles followed by complete charges will give the IC enough data to track the new cell accurately. After calibration, the gauge reading will track smoothly down to cutoff.
System information shows this battery as 48Wh but the spec says 71.28Wh — which is correct?
The 71.28Wh figure from the product spec is correct — this is the actual measured capacity of the new cell. The lower Wh figure the OS displays comes from EEPROM data the fuel gauge IC carries at factory defaults, which sometimes reflects a lower rated value than the physical cell's chemistry delivers. After two to three full discharge-charge cycles, the OS fuel gauge recalculates the Wh figure against real discharge data and the reported value will update closer to the actual rating.
