Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE Axon 7 / Grand X4 — 3.85V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (Li3931T44P8h756346)
This 3.85V, 3100mAh lithium-polymer cell replaces the original battery in the ZTE Axon 7, A2017U, A2017U Dual SIM LTE-A, and Grand X4 smartphones. It uses OEM part number Li3931T44P8h756346 and matches the original cell's dimensions at 74.10 × 62.80 × 4.30mm. Swap it in when the original no longer holds a usable charge or shuts down unexpectedly under load.
- Axon 7 and Grand X4 platform fit: Both the Axon 7 (A2017U) and Grand X4 share the same 3.85V cell footprint, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one part number covers the full family without hardware modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the Axon 7 platform. The BMS accepted the cell, completed charge termination correctly, and the fuel gauge IC tracked state-of-charge without throwing calibration errors after a full conditioning cycle.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate. This gives the fuel gauge IC time to map the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Axon 7 after a cell swap
This happens when the fuel gauge IC is still calibrated to the old cell's discharge curve. The new cell's actual voltage under modem and screen load drops below the cutoff threshold before the percentage reading reaches zero. The phone sees a voltage cliff — not a dead battery — and shuts down to protect the system. One full discharge-to-charge cycle at standard rate lets the coulomb counter reset against the new cell and eliminates the early cutoff.
USB-PD fast charge not triggering on the first cycle after replacement
The Axon 7's charge IC negotiates fast charge only after it confirms the cell's internal resistance and initial voltage are within an expected window. A brand-new cell at low state-of-charge can present higher impedance than the charge IC expects, causing it to fall back to standard 5V charging on that first session. This is a one-cycle behaviour — once the cell reaches full charge and the IC logs a complete cycle, fast charge negotiation resumes normally on subsequent plugs. If fast charge still does not trigger after two full cycles, check that the charger output voltage is confirmed at 9V under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
My ZTE Axon 7 keeps jumping between battery percentages after I put in the new cell — is something wrong with it?
Nothing is wrong with the cell itself. The fuel gauge IC in the Axon 7 stores a learned discharge model from the old battery, and the new cell's chemistry profile does not match it yet. The percentage reading corrects itself after one full discharge from 100% down to auto-shutdown, followed by a full uninterrupted charge. After that cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the percentage stabilises.
The phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before I installed it — what do I do?
Li-polymer cells self-discharge in storage, and if the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state to prevent damage. Plug the phone into a wall charger — not a USB port — and leave it connected for 30–45 minutes without attempting to power it on. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, after which the phone will boot normally.
The back of my Axon 7 feels warm near the battery while it's charging with the new cell — should I be concerned?
Mild warmth is normal during the first few charge sessions on a new high-impedance cell. A fresh lithium-polymer cell has higher internal resistance than a broken-in one, so the charge IC dissipates slightly more energy as heat during the initial cycles. If the phone becomes hot to the touch or the charge IC throttles charging speed repeatedly, remove the case to improve airflow and charge at room temperature. Warmth should reduce noticeably after three to four complete charge cycles as the cell's internal resistance settles.
