Fits ZTE Nubia Z5, NX501, NX401, NZ501 and replaces OEM battery Li3822T43p3h844941.
3.8V nominal, 2300mAh capacity delivers the original runtime across processor, display, and modem loads.
Connector slides into the original slot with a single locking tab — no force needed.
We cycled this cell on a Nubia Z5 bench unit; BMS accepted charge without fault codes or cutoff.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one full discharge-charge cycle so the fuel gauge IC recalibrates to the new cell's discharge curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

ZTE Nubia Z5 NX501 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (Li3822T43p3h844941)

This is a 3.8V, 2300mAh Li-Polymer replacement battery for the ZTE Nubia Z5 and NX501 series smartphones. It fits the original battery slot and connector on the NX501 and NX401 platforms. Capacity is 8.74Wh, matching the OEM cell specification.

  • NX501 and NX401 platform fit: Both models share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and BMS handshake protocol — one cell covers the full Nubia Z5 line without modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and full discharge on an NX501 board. The BMS accepted the cell on first connection, stepped through CC/CV charging correctly, and held cutoff at the expected low-voltage threshold without triggering protection lockout.
  • Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: After installation, run one full discharge to 5–10% and charge to 100% without interruption before enabling fast charging. The Nubia Z5's fuel gauge IC maps its coulomb counter to the new cell's discharge curve on that first cycle — skipping it causes the OS to report inaccurate percentages from day one.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the Nubia Z5 after a cell swap

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity defect. When the modem or display pulls a high current burst, a freshly installed cell with an uncalibrated fuel gauge IC can drop below 3.4V instantaneously — enough for the BMS to cut power even though the displayed percentage looks fine. The phone shuts off because the protection circuit sees a genuine undervoltage event, not a software glitch. Running one full uninterrupted discharge-charge cycle lets the coulomb counter anchor to the new cell's actual voltage curve and eliminates these cutoffs.

Phone feels warm near the battery during the first few charges

A new Li-Polymer cell has higher internal impedance than a worn cell — the charge IC on the Nubia Z5 responds by pushing slightly more voltage to compensate, generating more heat at the cell surface than you'd see on a broken-in battery. This is normal for the first two to three charge cycles as the cell's impedance drops. If warmth continues past cycle three or the phone becomes hot to the touch, check that the charge IC is not stuck in a fast-charge mode — disable any turbo charging option in settings and verify the charger output does not exceed 5V/2A for the break-in period.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my Nubia Z5 show the wrong battery percentage after fitting the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC inside the NX501 stores a learned discharge curve from your old cell — it doesn't automatically reset when you swap batteries. Until it sees one complete uninterrupted cycle, the coulomb counter is comparing the new cell's voltage output against the wrong reference map. Run the phone from 100% down to below 10% on a single charge, then charge fully to 100% without unplugging mid-way. After that cycle, the percentage readout will track the actual cell state accurately.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in after fitting the replacement battery.

Some proprietary fast-charge protocols on ZTE devices require the BMS to complete a handshake with the charger — on a fresh cell, the BMS initialises in a conservative mode and may reject the high-current request for the first one or two connections. Unplug the charger, wait 30 seconds, and reconnect. If the phone still charges at standard speed only, complete one full standard charge cycle first; the BMS typically unlocks the fast-charge threshold after confirming the cell accepts a full charge without a voltage anomaly.

The replacement battery won't bring the phone on at all — screen stays black after a long time in storage.

A Li-Polymer cell that has self-discharged below approximately 2.5V per cell will trigger BMS lockout — the protection circuit blocks current flow to prevent damage from charging a deeply depleted cell. Connect the phone to a 5V/1A wall charger (not a fast charger or USB hub) and leave it untouched for 45–60 minutes. The BMS on the NX501 cell uses a trickle pre-charge stage to bring voltage back above 3.0V before allowing normal charge current; the screen will stay off the entire time. If the charge indicator LED does not light within 90 minutes, the cell voltage has dropped below the recovery threshold and the battery will need replacement.
