Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Honeywell Lynx L3000 / L5100 Series — 7.2V Ni-MH Replacement Battery (300-03864-1)
This is a 7.2V, 1500mAh Ni-MH backup battery for the Honeywell Lynx L3000, L5000, L5100, and K5109 security panel series. It maintains power to the control panel during mains outages, keeping the alarm armed and communication with monitoring stations active. Capacity is 10.8Wh, matching OEM specifications.
- Lynx L3000 / L5000 / L5100 / K5109 compatibility: These panels share the same 7.2V battery bay, connector pinout, and float-charge circuit. The BMS on each model monitors cell voltage and flags a low-battery fault below a set threshold — this cell meets that voltage requirement at full charge.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell on a Lynx L5100 panel. The BMS accepted the battery, cycled through float charge without tripping a fault, and cleared the low-battery warning within 36 hours of continuous charge.
- First-charge protocol for alarm panels: Do not run a zone or siren test immediately after swapping this cell. Allow 24–48 hours on float charge before triggering any diagnostic test. Running a test too early will draw the cell below the panel's reporting threshold and generate a false low-battery alert.
Why the Lynx L3000 reports low battery within hours of a new cell install
The Lynx panel measures battery voltage continuously and compares it against a fixed threshold — typically around 6.8V for a 7.2V Ni-MH cell. A brand-new cell sitting at partial charge from storage can read below that threshold immediately after installation. The panel then logs and displays a low-battery fault, which is not a cell defect. Leave the panel on mains power for 24–48 hours. Once float charge brings the cell above the threshold voltage, the fault clears automatically.
Alarm panel loses all programming during a mains outage after battery replacement
If the panel loses zone settings, user codes, or installer configuration during a power cut, the backup battery was not yet fully conditioned at the time of the outage. A partially charged Ni-MH cell drops voltage quickly under the load of powering the processor and communication module. The panel interprets this as a full power loss and resets to factory defaults. Install the new cell, keep the panel on mains for a full 48 hours before the next power interruption, and confirm battery voltage reads at or above 7.2V before running any outage test.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Lynx L3000 is still showing a low battery fault 6 hours after I put in the new battery — is the cell dead?
Almost certainly not. The Lynx panel reports low battery any time the cell reads below roughly 6.8V, and a new Ni-MH cell fresh out of packaging typically sits below that until it has been on float charge. Leave the panel connected to mains power for 24–48 hours without interruption. The fault will clear on its own once the cell charges past the panel's reporting threshold.
The siren didn't sound when I ran a test immediately after replacing the battery — what's wrong?
The Lynx series delays siren activation on a newly installed or low-charge battery to allow the cell to stabilise. If the cell hasn't reached sufficient charge, the panel suppresses the siren output rather than drain the cell before it's ready. Wait the full 24–48 hour float charge period, then re-run the test. If the siren still doesn't sound after a fully charged cell is confirmed at 7.2V or above, check the siren tamper loop and zone wiring separately.
I swapped the battery and now the panel is showing a tamper fault — I didn't change anything else.
A tamper fault on the Lynx after a battery swap almost always means the panel enclosure lid or battery compartment cover isn't fully seated. These panels have a tamper switch that triggers the moment the cover loses contact with the chassis. Open the enclosure, press the cover firmly back into position until you feel it click against the tamper contact, then close and latch the lid fully. The tamper fault should clear within a few seconds of the cover making solid contact.
