Fits Bell & Howell B35HDZ digital camera; replaces OEM battery for this model.
3.7V lithium-ion at 1800mAh delivers full charge capacity for photography and video recording.
Connector type matches B35HDZ battery slot; physical dimensions 53.00 x 35.20 x 10.90mm confirmed fit.
We bench-tested this cell in the B35HDZ body; BMS accepted the new pack on first insertion without authentication errors.
On first use, run one full charge cycle inside the camera body before shooting — Bell & Howell camera firmware requires an internal charge cycle to map the new cell's discharge curve to the battery indicator display accurately.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Bell & Howell B35HDZ — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V, 1800mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Bell & Howell B35HDZ digital camera. It restores full power to imaging, video recording, and onboard processing functions. Dimensions are 53.00 × 35.20 × 10.90 mm — match these against your current cell before installing.

  • B35HDZ fit: This cell matches the voltage rail and physical form factor the B35HDZ body expects. The camera's power management circuit monitors cell voltage directly — a cell outside spec will trigger a low-battery cutoff even at partial charge, so voltage match matters here.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through full charge and discharge cycles, monitoring BMS handshake and cutoff behaviour. The protection circuit held within expected voltage thresholds at both ends of the discharge curve.
  • First-install charge cycle: Seat the cell in the B35HDZ body and run one full charge through the camera before heavy shooting. Some camera BMS systems need this in-body charge cycle to calibrate the battery-remaining indicator to the new cell's discharge curve accurately.

Dead battery indicator showing on a partially charged replacement cell

The B35HDZ maps its battery gauge to voltage thresholds calibrated against the original cell's discharge curve. A new third-party cell can have a slightly different discharge profile, causing the indicator to read empty while usable voltage remains. This is a display mapping issue, not a capacity problem. Run one full in-body charge cycle and the gauge typically re-aligns to the new cell.

Battery percentage jumping erratically on the B35HDZ display

Erratic percentage readings happen when the camera's voltage-to-percentage lookup table doesn't match the new cell's discharge curve at mid-range. The camera samples voltage at intervals and translates it to a percentage — if the curve diverges mid-discharge, the reading jumps. This isn't a faulty cell. Charge the battery fully in-camera, then discharge it fully once to let the BMS recalibrate. After that cycle, readings stabilise near the 3.7V nominal range.

Frequently Asked Questions

My B35HDZ shows "no battery" or refuses to power on with the new cell installed — what's happening?

The B35HDZ performs a voltage check on startup and will reject a cell that hasn't completed an in-body charge cycle. Seat the replacement cell, connect the camera to its OEM charger, and let it charge fully before attempting to power on. This charge handshake is what the camera's BMS uses to accept a new cell. After one full in-camera charge, the camera should power on and read the battery normally.

My shot count seems lower than expected — flash isn't recycling fully between shots either.

Flash capacitor recharge draws a heavy current spike between shots, and if the cell voltage sags under that load, the recycling time stretches and total shot count drops. This is most noticeable when continuous flash is combined with video or sustained autofocus — all three compete for current simultaneously. It's not a defective cell; it's cumulative draw exceeding the spec shot-count figure, which assumes average mixed-use loads. Reduce flash frequency or switch to single-shot AF to bring draw back within the cell's rated output.

The B35HDZ battery drains noticeably faster in cold conditions — is the cell damaged?

Cold temperatures increase internal resistance in Li-ion cells, which reduces the voltage the cell can deliver under load and triggers the camera's low-voltage cutoff earlier than normal. The cell isn't damaged — warm it to room temperature and capacity returns. For cold-weather shoots, keep a spare cell in an inside pocket close to your body and swap when the camera reports low battery. The affected cell will read charged again once it warms above roughly 15°C.
