Fits Proscan CC566, CC577, CCHIT555, CCHIT566 digital camcorders; replaces OEM battery CS-SVD250MC.
7.4V 2900mAh lithium-ion delivers 21.46Wh to sustain video recording and extended playback sessions.
Canon-style connector slides into battery slot with locking tab; physical dimensions 70.30 x 38.00 x 20.10mm.
Bench testing showed clean voltage ramp on first insertion; BMS accepted the new cell without fault codes.
On first use, run a full charge cycle in the camera body before sustained video shooting — the Proscan body firmware maps battery-remaining display to discharge curve only after that initial charge acknowledgment.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Proscan CC566 Series — 7.4V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This is a 7.4V, 2900mAh Li-ion battery for the Proscan CC566 digital camcorder and related models including the CC577, CCHIT555, and CCHIT566. It replaces the original cell when charge retention has degraded to the point where recording sessions are cut short. Capacity figures come from the product data — 21.46Wh total energy.

  • CC566 series compatibility: The CC566, CC577, CCHIT555, and CCHIT566 share the same battery bay dimensions, connector pinout, and 7.4V nominal voltage rail. A single cell covers all these models without any mechanical modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the bench and confirmed the BMS communicates correctly with the camcorder body — charge acceptance, cutoff voltage, and discharge curve all behaved within expected parameters for this voltage class.
  • First-install charge cycle on the CC566: Run the first charge to full capacity inside the camcorder body or OEM charger before recording. Some Proscan camcorder BMS implementations require one complete in-body charge cycle before the battery-remaining indicator maps correctly to the new cell's discharge curve.

Why the CC566 displays a dead-battery icon on a partially charged replacement cell

The CC566's battery indicator reads state-of-charge by mapping voltage thresholds against a lookup table calibrated to the original cell's discharge curve. A new third-party cell can sit at 7.2V — well within usable range — while the camera interprets that as empty. This is a display calibration issue, not a cell defect. One full charge-discharge cycle inside the camcorder body re-aligns the indicator to the new cell's actual curve.

Battery percentage jumping erratically during recording on the CC566

During sustained video recording, the CC566 draws current from the sensor, processor, and LCD simultaneously, causing instantaneous voltage to drop faster than the indicator expects. The BMS reads that momentary sag as a lower state-of-charge and updates the display accordingly, which looks like the percentage is jumping. This is most visible when recording in high-resolution modes. Let the cell reach a resting voltage of 8.2–8.4V after a full charge before starting a long session to confirm full capacity is present.

Frequently Asked Questions

My CC566 shows "no battery" or cuts out immediately after I install the replacement — is the cell dead?

The CC566 BMS runs a voltage handshake on insertion, and a new cell that hasn't been charged in the body yet can fail that check. Place the battery in the camcorder, connect to power, and let it complete one full charge cycle before attempting to power on. After that cycle, the body accepts the cell and the cutout stops. If the camera still cuts out after a full in-body charge, measure the cell voltage at the terminals — it should read between 8.2V and 8.4V at full charge.

The battery percentage on my CC566 drops from 80% to 20% in seconds during recording — what's happening?

This is a voltage-threshold mismatch between the new cell's discharge curve and the camcorder's original calibration table. The indicator was tuned to the factory cell; the replacement cell holds voltage slightly differently under load, so the readout jumps when current draw spikes. The actual capacity in the cell is not lost — the display is misreading it. Run two full charge-discharge cycles through the camcorder body and the indicator will track more steadily.

My CC566 records fine indoors but the battery drains noticeably faster in cold weather — is something wrong with the cell?

Li-ion cells lose available capacity as temperature drops because lithium-ion mobility through the electrolyte slows down — this affects all Li-ion cells, not just replacements. At temperatures below 10°C, you can expect measurable capacity reduction compared to room-temperature performance. Warm the camcorder and battery to room temperature before a shoot when possible. If the cell recovers its normal charge capacity after warming, the cell is functioning correctly.
