Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

GIONEE M6 / GN8003 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (BL-N5000D)
This is a 3.8V 5000mAh lithium-polymer replacement battery for the GIONEE M6 and GN8003 smartphones. It replaces OEM part BL-N5000D and fits the original battery bay without modification. Capacity matches the factory spec at 5000mAh (19Wh).
- M6 and GN8003 compatibility: Both the M6 and GN8003 share the same battery bay dimensions, voltage rail, and BMS connector pinout. The BL-N5000D form factor — 91.70 × 64.40 × 4.50 mm — fits either handset without adapter or modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on a GIONEE M6 unit. The BMS accepted the handshake on first connection, charge IC registered the cell correctly, and the fuel gauge IC began tracking state-of-charge without manual intervention.
- First-cycle calibration tip: On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging pushes current into an uncalibrated cell.
Why the M6 reports wrong battery percentage after a cell swap
The GIONEE M6 uses a coulomb counter in the fuel gauge IC that builds its reference model from the original cell's discharge curve. When a new cell goes in, that stored model no longer matches the actual cell chemistry and capacity. The OS reads from the fuel gauge — not the cell directly — so it reports percentages calibrated to the old cell. One full discharge from 100% down to automatic shutdown, followed by a full charge with fast charging disabled, forces the IC to rewrite its reference curve against the new cell.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell
This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity problem. Under heavy load — active LTE modem, bright screen, or simultaneous app activity — the cell voltage drops sharply below what the fuel gauge IC predicted at that state-of-charge. The phone's protection circuit triggers shutdown before the reported percentage hits zero. Run one unconditioned discharge-charge cycle first. If shutdowns persist after calibration, check that cell voltage at shutdown reads above 3.4V using a battery diagnostic app — anything lower points to a BMS trip, not a gauge error.

Frequently Asked Questions
The M6 shows 25% and then dies with no warning — is the replacement cell faulty?
Not necessarily faulty. This is a voltage sag problem — under modem or screen load, the cell voltage drops faster than the fuel gauge IC predicted, triggering a protection cutoff before the displayed percentage reaches zero. The old cell's discharge curve is still stored in the coulomb counter. Run one full discharge-to-shutdown and full charge cycle with fast charging off. If the shutdowns stop, the IC has recalibrated; if they continue, check the shutdown voltage in a battery diagnostic app — a reading below 3.4V at cutoff points to a BMS trip.
Fast charging stopped working after I put in the new BL-N5000D — the phone only slow-charges now.
The M6's charge IC negotiates the fast-charge protocol against the BMS in the new cell on the first cycle. If the handshake fails or the BMS reports an out-of-range impedance, the charge IC falls back to standard 5V input and locks fast charging out for that session. Disable fast charging in settings, run one complete slow charge to 100%, then re-enable it. This resets the protocol negotiation on the next plug-in event.
Phone won't turn on at all after the replacement battery sat in a drawer for a few months before installation.
Li-polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the cell dropped below approximately 2.5V per cell, the BMS enters a lockout state and will not pass current to the phone. Plug into a wall charger — not a computer USB port — and leave it for 20 to 30 minutes without pressing the power button. The charge IC on the M6 trickle-charges a locked-out cell at low current to bring it above the BMS recovery threshold, which sits around 3.0V, before resuming normal charging.
