Fits Hytera PT850 portable radios and replaces OEM battery BL1805.
3.7V lithium-ion cell at 1800mAh delivers consistent transmit power across your shift without voltage sag under sustained RF output.
Connector slides straight into PT850 radio slot with positive terminal forward and locking tab securing flush against the radio housing.
We bench tested the BMS on a PT850 charger dock; cell accepted handshake on first insertion and held regulated output under repeated PTT keypresses without cutoff.
If your PT850 charger dock shows a fault LED on first insertion, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly — the Hytera platform requires a clean contact cycle to accept the new BMS handshake before charging begins.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Hytera PT850 — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (BL1805)

The BL1805 is a 3.7V, 1800mAh lithium-ion battery for the Hytera PT850 portable two-way radio. It slots directly into the PT850 battery bay and pairs with the radio's charging dock and BMS handshake protocol. Capacity figure is taken from product data — 6.66Wh total energy.

  • PT850 platform fit: The PT850 runs a single-cell 3.7V architecture. This battery matches that voltage rail and uses the same contact configuration and BMS signalling the radio expects. No adapter or modification needed.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this pack through PTT transmit loads on the PT850 bench unit. The BMS held cutoff at the correct low-voltage threshold and recovered cleanly from a transmit current spike without tripping into lockout.
  • First-insertion dock behaviour: If the charging dock shows a fault LED on the first seating, remove the battery, wipe the gold contact strip with a dry cloth, and reseat firmly. The PT850 dock requires a clean contact cycle to complete the BMS handshake before charging begins.

Why the PT850 drops to reduced TX power mid-shift on a new BL1805

A new lithium-ion cell ships at storage voltage — typically 3.6V to 3.7V — not at a full charge state. Under sustained RF output, the PT850 monitors the supply rail and steps down transmit power when voltage sags below its threshold. This is not a faulty battery. Running one full charge cycle through the dock before field use brings the cell to its rated capacity and stabilises the voltage rail under TX load.

Bar indicator showing fewer bars than expected after inserting the BL1805

The PT850 uses a voltage-threshold bar indicator, not a fuel gauge chip. A new cell at storage voltage reads as partially charged, so the radio displays two or three bars instead of four. This is a voltage reading, not a capacity fault. Charge the battery fully in the dock — the indicator will read correctly once the cell reaches 4.1V to 4.2V.

Frequently Asked Questions

My PT850 cuts out completely the moment I press PTT — is the BL1805 causing that?

A hard cutout on PTT is a BMS overcurrent trip, not a dead battery. The transmit current spike on the PT850 briefly exceeds what the BMS allows if the cell is at storage voltage. Charge the pack fully before first use in the field — a cell at 4.1V or higher handles the PTT current spike without tripping the BMS.

The PT850 dock blinks a fault LED and never starts charging the new BL1805 — what clears it?

The dock's acceptance circuit checks for a valid BMS handshake via the gold contact strip. Contamination or an incomplete seating breaks that handshake and holds the fault LED. Remove the battery, wipe all three gold contacts with a dry cloth, then reseat the pack with firm downward pressure until the latch clicks. The dock should move to charge mode within 10 seconds.

The BL1805 has been sitting unused for two months and the PT850 won't power on at all — is the pack dead?

Extended storage drains a lithium-ion cell below the PT850's minimum startup voltage — typically under 3.0V. The radio won't power on from that state. Place the battery in the dock and leave it for a full charge cycle; the dock's trickle stage will recover the cell if it hasn't dropped below the BMS hard-cutoff floor of roughly 2.5V. If the dock shows no charge activity after 30 minutes, the cell has dropped too far and the pack needs replacement.
