Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.
Delivery and Shipping
Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

JTC VideoShot DVH20 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery
This 3.7V, 1050mAh Li-ion cell replaces the original battery in the JTC VideoShot DVH20, DVH22, DVH1080, and DVH5330 compact digital cameras. It restores power to the recording, playback, and still-image functions that the degraded factory cell can no longer sustain. Voltage and physical dimensions match OEM spec: 53.20 × 35.30 × 7.10mm.
- VideoShot DVH series compatibility: The DVH20, DVH22, DVH1080, and DVH5330 share the same battery bay dimensions and 3.7V supply rail, so one cell fits the full range without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through the DVH20 body and confirmed the BMS accepted the new cell at both the charge and discharge stage, with no fault flags triggered during continuous video capture.
- First-cycle conditioning for accurate indicator readout: Run one complete charge cycle through the OEM charger or the camera body itself before heavy shooting — the DVH series BMS maps its battery-remaining display against a charge curve it reads during that first full cycle, and skipping it produces erratic percentage readings.
Camera showing dead battery indicator on a partially charged replacement cell
The DVH series battery indicator is calibrated to the discharge curve of the original cell. A new Li-ion cell has a slightly different internal resistance profile, so the camera misreads state-of-charge on the first few cycles. The indicator may show empty at 3.65V — well above the actual cutoff threshold. After two to three full charge-discharge cycles, the BMS recalibrates and the readout stabilises.
Battery percentage jumping erratically mid-recording session
During sustained video recording, the DVH20's combined sensor readout, video processor, and LCD draw pull current in bursts rather than at a steady rate. A replacement cell with a fresh discharge curve responds to those current spikes with small voltage dips, which the camera's voltage-threshold indicator interprets as sudden capacity drops. This is a display mapping issue, not a fault with the cell. It typically settles after the BMS has seen one full discharge to the 3.0V cutoff floor.

Frequently Asked Questions
My JTC VideoShot DVH20 shows "no battery" immediately after I insert the new cell — is the battery dead?
It is not dead. The DVH series BMS runs an authentication check on insertion, and a new cell that has never been charged in the camera body can fail that initial handshake. Place the cell in the OEM charger or insert it and plug the camera into its USB charge source for a full charge cycle first. After that charge completes, re-insert the cell and power on — the camera should recognise it at that point.
My shot count is far lower than I expected — I'm getting far fewer photos than the previous battery gave me.
Shot count is heavily affected by what the camera is doing between shots, not just capacity. On the DVH series, continuous autofocus, LCD brightness, and flash recycling each add significant draw on top of the shutter itself. If flash is active for every shot, the capacitor recharge current between frames can account for more than half the total draw per shot. Turn off features you are not using and shoot in bright conditions where flash is unnecessary — shot count will increase noticeably.
The DVH20 body gets noticeably warm during video recording and the battery drains faster than during photo mode — is something wrong?
Nothing is wrong. Sustained video recording on the DVH series runs the image sensor, video encoder, and image stabilisation circuit simultaneously, which is a much higher combined current draw than single-frame capture. That load generates heat in both the processor and the cell itself. Internal cell temperature above 40°C accelerates discharge rate slightly, which is why video sessions deplete the battery faster than equivalent photo sessions. Keep the camera out of direct sunlight during recording to reduce ambient heat contribution.
