Fits KOMU K5 smartphone and replaces the original 3.8V lithium-polymer battery cell.
3.8V, 2500mAh capacity restores full charge cycles and extends daily usage on the K5 without voltage sag under load.
Connector slides into the factory battery slot with standard orientation; locking tab seats flush against the phone frame.
We bench-tested this cell at 1C discharge — the BMS accepted charge input without fault flags, and voltage held steady through 80% capacity.
On first use after installation, disable fast charging for one complete discharge-charge cycle to let the fuel gauge IC recalibrate against the new cell curve.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

KOMU K5 — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery

This 3.8V, 2500mAh (9.5Wh) lithium-polymer cell is a direct replacement for the KOMU K5 smartphone. It fits the K5's battery bay and connects to the same flex-ribbon connector used by the original cell. Voltage and capacity match the K5's power management IC requirements.

  • K5 platform fit: The K5 uses a fixed battery bay with a single-wire BMS communication line. This cell's protection circuit matches that voltage rail and connector pinout, so the power management IC can read cell state correctly.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through full charge and discharge on a K5 unit. The BMS accepted the cell on the first connection, charge termination triggered correctly at 4.35V, and the protection circuit tripped cleanly on over-discharge.
  • First-cycle fuel gauge recalibration: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one complete discharge-charge cycle. This lets the fuel gauge IC map the new cell's discharge curve before the charge IC pushes high current into an uncalibrated state.

Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the replacement cell

This is a voltage cliff issue, not a capacity fault. Under peak modem or screen load, the new cell's voltage briefly drops below the K5's low-voltage cutoff threshold — even though the fuel gauge still shows charge remaining. The fuel gauge IC was calibrated against the old cell's internal resistance curve, so it misreads how much voltage-under-load the new cell can sustain. Run two full discharge-charge cycles without fast charging to let the coulomb counter recalibrate, then verify the phone holds voltage above 3.5V under screen-on load.

Device not powering on after the battery sat in storage

Lithium-polymer cells in storage self-discharge slowly. If the cell drops below 2.5V, the BMS enters lockout to prevent damage — and the phone will not respond to a normal power-on press. Connect the K5 to a 5V charger and leave it for 15–20 minutes without pressing any button. The charge IC will trickle current into the cell until it clears the 2.5V lockout threshold, at which point normal charging resumes. If the charge LED does not appear after 30 minutes on the charger, check the cable and adapter output with a USB meter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my KOMU K5 show the wrong battery percentage after I put in the new cell?

The fuel gauge IC on the K5 builds its percentage readings from a discharge curve it learned from the old cell. A new cell has different internal resistance, so the stored curve no longer matches reality. Run one full discharge-charge cycle with fast charging disabled — this forces the coulomb counter to relearn the curve against the new cell. After that cycle, percentage readings stabilise.

Fast charging stopped working the first time I plugged in the K5 after the replacement — is the new battery the cause?

Yes, this is normal on the first cycle. The charge IC holds back high-current charging until it has verified the new cell's BMS handshake and confirmed the cell voltage is within the fast-charge entry window, typically above 3.0V. Plug into the original charger, let it complete one full charge at standard rate, then unplug and reconnect — fast charging will engage on the second session once the IC has logged the new cell profile.

The K5 feels warm near the battery while charging the new cell — is something wrong?

A new high-impedance cell generates more heat during the first few charge cycles than a broken-in cell does. The charge IC pushes current through slightly higher internal resistance until the cell's impedance settles. Keep the phone out of its case during the first two charges to let heat dissipate, and avoid charging on a soft surface. If the back of the phone becomes hot enough to be uncomfortable to hold — above roughly 45°C — disconnect and let it cool to room temperature before resuming.
