Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Huawei Ascend P8 Max — 3.8V Li-Polymer Replacement Battery (HB3665D2EBC)
This is a 3.8V, 4360mAh Li-Polymer cell that replaces the original HB3665D2EBC battery in the Huawei Ascend P8 Max. It fits the DAV-703L and DAV-713L variants as well. Same dimensions at 130.50 × 63.52 × 3.25 mm, same connector pinout, same BMS handshake the charge IC expects.
- P8 Max DAV-703L and DAV-713L compatibility: Both variants share the same battery bay dimensions, connector layout, and charge IC protocol. One cell covers the entire P8 Max line without modification.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the P8 Max platform. The BMS handshake completed on first connection, and the charge IC accepted the cell without triggering protection flags.
- Fuel gauge recalibration on first use: On first use after installation, disable fast charging and run one full discharge-charge cycle at standard rate. This lets the fuel gauge IC map its coulomb counter against the new cell's discharge curve before high-current charging begins.
Sudden shutdown at 20–30% on the P8 Max after a cell swap
The P8 Max fuel gauge IC stores a discharge curve calibrated to the original cell. When a new cell goes in, that stored curve no longer matches the actual voltage-versus-capacity relationship of the replacement. The phone reads 25% remaining, but the real open-circuit voltage has already dropped below the modem's minimum rail — so the device shuts off. Running one full unconditioned discharge-charge cycle forces the coulomb counter to relearn the new cell's cliff point. After that cycle, the reported percentage tracks actual capacity correctly.
Device not powering on after the replacement cell sat in storage
Li-Polymer cells self-discharge in storage. If the replacement cell drops below 2.5V per cell during shipping or shelf time, the BMS enters lockout mode and blocks current flow entirely — the phone shows nothing when you press power. Connect the phone to a wall charger and leave it for 20–30 minutes without pressing any buttons. The charge IC trickle-charges the cell back above the BMS recovery threshold, typically around 2.9V, at which point the BMS releases the lockout and normal charging resumes.

Frequently Asked Questions
My Huawei P8 Max shuts off at around 25% after I put in the new battery — is the cell faulty?
The cell is not faulty. The fuel gauge IC on the P8 Max is still using the discharge curve it learned from the old, degraded cell, so it misreads where the voltage cliff actually falls on the new cell. Run one complete discharge down to automatic shutdown, then charge to 100% at standard (non-fast) charge speed. After that single cycle, the coulomb counter recalibrates and the percentage readings stabilise.
Fast charging stopped working after I replaced the battery on my P8 Max — it only charges slowly now.
The P8 Max charge IC runs a BMS handshake before switching from standard to high-current charging. On a new cell's first cycle, the IC sometimes stays in trickle or standard mode until it confirms the cell's internal resistance is within expected range. Let the phone complete one full charge at standard speed without interrupting it. On the second charge cycle, the IC typically clears the handshake and fast charging resumes. If it does not, check that the charger output matches the original spec — 5V/2A minimum.
The battery percentage on my P8 Max jumps around erratically — goes from 60% down to 40% in minutes, then back up.
Erratic percentage jumps point to a fuel gauge IC that has not yet mapped the new cell's open-circuit voltage curve. The coulomb counter is interpolating against stale data from the original cell, producing large swings when current draw changes — screen-on, modem active, screen-off. Discharge the phone completely until it shuts itself off, then charge uninterrupted to 100% at standard rate. That cycle gives the IC a full voltage sweep to anchor its recalibration.
