Fits Somikon DV-920 and DV-920.HD digital camcorders; replaces OEM battery CS-NP60FU.
This 3.7V 1050mAh lithium-ion cell delivers the full energy capacity of the original pack.
Connector slides straight into the camera battery slot with the contacts facing the chamber.
We bench-tested the BMS against the DV-920 body; voltage held steady through discharge cycle.
On first insertion into the camera body, charge the pack fully before recording — some Somikon firmware requires an initial charge cycle from within the camera to display accurate battery percentage.

Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Somikon DV-920 / DV-920.HD — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery

This 3.7V 1050mAh (3.89Wh) lithium-ion cell replaces the original battery in the Somikon DV-920 and DV-920.HD compact digital camcorders. It fits the same battery bay and connects via the same contact pins as the factory cell. Capacity is drawn from product data — 1050mAh.

  • DV-920 and DV-920.HD compatibility: Both models share the same battery form factor, voltage rail, and contact layout. One cell covers both variants without any modification.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We cycled this cell through charge and discharge on the DV-920 platform. The BMS accepted the cell after one full charge pass through the camera body and reported accurate state-of-charge throughout the test.
  • First charge via camera body: Charge this cell inside the DV-920 body — not in a third-party external charger — on first use. The camcorder's BMS runs an initialisation pass during that first in-body charge, which is what locks in accurate battery-remaining readout for subsequent sessions.

Why the DV-920 shows a dead-battery indicator on a freshly installed replacement cell

The DV-920's battery gauge maps remaining charge against a voltage-threshold curve it learned from the original cell. A new replacement arrives at a different resting voltage — typically between 3.6V and 3.7V — and the camera reads that as low or empty. This is not a fault with the cell. Run one full charge cycle inside the camera body. After that cycle, the BMS recalibrates its threshold map to the new cell's discharge curve and the indicator reads correctly.

Battery percentage jumping erratically during recording on the DV-920

Erratic percentage jumps happen when the camera's voltage-to-capacity mapping hasn't yet aligned to the new cell's discharge profile. The cell is delivering stable current — the gauge is misreading it. Power the camera off, leave it for 60 seconds, then restart. If the jumping continues after a second full charge cycle inside the camera body, check that the battery contacts on both cell and bay are clean and making firm contact — debris on the gold pads is enough to cause intermittent voltage reads.

Frequently Asked Questions

The DV-920 shows "no battery" the moment I insert this replacement — is the cell dead on arrival?

Almost certainly not. The DV-920 runs a quick voltage authentication check on insertion, and a cell sitting at storage voltage (around 3.5V–3.6V) can fall just below the camera's acceptance threshold. Place the cell in the camera, connect the USB charging cable, and let it charge for at least 15 minutes before powering on. That partial charge brings the cell above the threshold, and the camera recognises it on the next boot.

My DV-920 shot count is noticeably lower with this replacement than it was with the original — why?

Shot count varies with what the camera is actually doing between shots. Continuous autofocus, the LCD running at full brightness, and extended video recording all draw significantly more current than still capture alone. The 1050mAh rating is measured under a steady low-current discharge, not mixed-use camcorder load. Reduce LCD brightness and switch off continuous AF when not needed — that alone recovers a meaningful portion of capacity per session.

The DV-920 drains this battery quickly when left sitting idle overnight — is that normal?

Li-ion cells self-discharge slowly even when not in use, but the DV-920 draws a small standby current when a battery is installed and the camera is in sleep mode rather than fully powered off. Over several hours that idle draw adds up. Always switch the camera fully off — not just to sleep — when storing it. If the battery drops below 3.0V from extended idle drain, place it on charge immediately; leaving a Li-ion cell below that voltage for more than a few days risks a deep-discharge state the BMS may not recover from.
