Battery Care Tips
Battery Care Tips
🔹 Getting Started
Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.
🔹 Keep It Healthy
Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping
🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Philips Avent SCD630 / SCD620 Series — 3.7V Li-ion Replacement Battery (NTA3460-4)
This is a 3.7V, 3000mAh Li-ion replacement battery for the parent unit of the Philips Avent SCD630 and SCD620 baby monitor series. It fits the parent unit handset — the screen-equipped unit you carry around the house. When the original cell degrades and the parent unit stops holding a charge through the night, this is the direct replacement.
- SCD630 and SCD620 parent unit fit: Both monitor series share the same parent unit battery bay, voltage rail, and connector layout. The NTA3460-4 and cross-referenced NTA3459-4 part numbers cover the same cell format across these generations. No modification needed to fit either unit.
- Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through the parent unit's charge circuit. The BMS accepted the handshake from the Philips charger without fault, and the low-battery indicator cleared normally once the cell reached full charge.
- Re-pair the parent unit after installation: The SCD630 and SCD620 parent units drop their wireless link to the camera unit when power is fully cut. After swapping the battery, hold the pairing button on both units until the connection LED confirms a new link. Skip this step and the screen will show no signal.
Parent unit battery draining overnight on the SCD630
The SCD630 parent unit runs the display, audio receiver, and IR-based night vision signal decoding simultaneously during overnight use. That sustained load is harder on a degraded cell than short daytime checks. A new 3000mAh cell handles this draw correctly, but only if the screen timeout is active — leaving the screen on permanently nearly doubles the current draw. Go to the parent unit settings and set the screen to auto-off after 60 seconds to bring overnight drain back to normal levels.
Night vision feed not working after battery replacement
The IR LED system in the camera unit is powered independently, but the parent unit needs to be above a minimum operating voltage to correctly decode and display the IR video feed. If the parent unit shows a blank or flickering screen in night mode immediately after a battery swap, the cell likely hasn't reached full charge yet. Put the parent unit on charge until the indicator shows 100% before testing night vision. A fully charged 3.7V cell will bring the display above the threshold needed to render the IR feed without dropout.

Frequently Asked Questions
My SCD630 parent unit says "out of range" right after I swapped the battery — the camera unit is in the same room. What's going on?
A full power interruption during the battery swap breaks the wireless pairing between the parent and camera units. The parent unit doesn't automatically reconnect — it needs a manual re-pair. Hold the pairing button on the camera unit first, then press and hold the pairing button on the parent unit until the connection indicator lights up solid.
The night vision on my Avent SCD630 looks washed out or won't switch on after I put in the new battery. Is the battery faulty?
This is almost always a voltage issue, not a fault with the cell. The parent unit's IR video decoding requires the battery to be at or near full charge — a freshly installed cell that's only at 30–40% can cause the night vision display to drop out or appear degraded. Put the parent unit on charge until the battery indicator reads full, then test night vision again. If the problem clears at full charge, the battery is working correctly.
My SCD630 parent unit screen stays on all night and the battery is dead by 3am — it lasted longer on the old battery. What should I check?
A new cell won't fix overnight drain if the screen timeout is disabled. The SCD630 parent unit draws significantly more current with the screen on continuously than in audio-only standby mode. Go into the parent unit settings menu and enable the screen auto-off timer — 60 seconds is the recommended setting for overnight use. That single change will reduce overnight draw and the battery will last until morning.
