Battery Care Tips

🔹 Getting Started

Charge your new battery fully before you use it for the first time. Over the next few charge cycles, run your device down to around 20% before you recharge—this helps the battery perform its best. After that, charge whenever you need to.

🔹 Keep It Healthy

Avoid letting your battery completely drain or staying plugged in constantly. Both extremes wear it out faster. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when you're not using it, since heat damages batteries quickly.

Delivery and Shipping

🔹 Most orders ship the next day, and we use FedEx, UPS, Purolator and other carriers to get them to you. Lithium batteries have to ship by ground only, not air or USPS. Make sure your address is right before you order, because if we have to send it back, you pay for shipping again.

Version MBP33S / MBP36 Series — 3.6V Ni-MH Replacement Battery

This is a 3.6V, 700mAh Ni-MH replacement battery for the Version MBP33S, MBP36, MBP36S, MBP33XL, and compatible parent units. It fits the wireless handheld parent unit — the portable display you carry around the house. Swap it in when the original cell no longer holds charge or stops powering the unit reliably.

  • MBP33S and MBP36 series compatibility: These models share the same parent unit housing, connector pinout, and 3.6V single-cell Ni-MH power rail. One battery cell fits the whole group.
  • Bench tested on actual hardware: We ran this cell through charge and discharge cycles on the parent unit. The BMS accepted the cell without faults, and the unit powered on cleanly from a full charge state.
  • Re-pair after fitting: Baby monitor parent units lose their wireless link to the camera unit when the battery is fully removed. After fitting this battery and charging, press and hold the pairing button on the parent unit until the camera unit confirms the connection.

Parent unit battery draining overnight during active monitoring

Running the parent unit screen on continuously through the night is a sustained draw on a 700mAh cell. The backlit display, wireless radio, and audio circuit all pull current at the same time. Ni-MH cells at this capacity are not sized for all-night screen-on use. Enable the screen timeout in the monitor's settings so the display sleeps between alerts — the audio and radio stay active, but the screen load drops significantly.

Night vision cuts out on parent unit after battery replacement

The camera unit's IR LEDs require a stable voltage from the parent unit's radio signal to trigger and maintain the night vision feed. If the replacement battery is fitted but not yet fully charged, the radio transmits at reduced power and the IR handshake can fail. The symptom is a dark or dropped camera feed in low-light conditions. Charge the parent unit to full — confirmed by the charge indicator — before testing night vision.

Frequently Asked Questions

My MBP33S parent unit shows the camera feed for a few seconds then loses the signal — could the new battery cause this?

Yes. A partially charged Ni-MH cell drops voltage under the combined load of the screen, radio, and audio circuit, and the wireless link destabilises before the battery indicator even looks low. Charge the parent unit fully before use — not just until the light changes, but until the indicator confirms complete charge. Then test the camera link again.

After fitting the new battery, my MBP36 parent unit won't find the camera at all — no signal, no pairing.

Removing the battery interrupts power completely, and the MBP36 parent unit drops its stored wireless pairing when that happens. The unit and camera need to re-establish the link manually. Hold the pairing button on the parent unit until the camera unit beeps or its indicator flashes to confirm pairing — the exact button location is on page 8 of the MBP36 manual.

The range on the parent unit seems much shorter than it used to be — I can't walk to the next room without losing signal.

Radio transmission power on the MBP33S and MBP36 parent units is voltage-sensitive. A Ni-MH cell that isn't fully charged will power the screen and audio but won't push the radio to full output, which cuts effective range noticeably. Charge the parent unit to 100% and retest range — if the short-range problem persists after a full charge, the cell may have been stored too long and needs a second full charge cycle to recover capacity.
